In 2014, then 22-year-old Colorado-native Amanda Garcia first appeared on Are You the One? Season 3 in search of her perfect match. She didn’t find love but continued a reality television career and competed on MTV’s The Challenge. The MTV star never won or reached the finals, and stopped returning after five seasons. Why won’t Amanda Garcia compete on Season 35’s Total Madness?

Amanda Garcia on MTV’s ‘The Challenge’

In May 2016, Are You the One? 3 star Amanda Garcia debuted on The Challenge: Rivals III alongside nemesis Nelson Thomas. Although they survived their first elimination, they were sent packing in 10th place.

She returned for the following season, Invasion of the Champions, and barely missed the finals. In Dirty 30, the Colorado-native was purged out of the competition in the first episode, and she came back two seasons later for Final Reckoning.

Teamed up with Zach Nichols, they racked up an impressive four elimination wins, but her teammate’s fractured nose sent the couple packing.

In War of the Worlds, her most recent Challenge, she partnered up with Josh Martinez, but they didn’t make it far. During the season, co-star Da’Vonne Rogers revealed Theo Campbell, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, and Kyle Christie pulled a prank on Amanda and taped her mouth shut.

According to Da’Vonne, the AYTO star was screaming and crying, upset the tape got into her hair, pulling it out. Even though Johnny Bananas admitted they taped her mouth to prevent her from speaking, the guys apologized to her at the reunion.

She then announced she would no longer compete in the series because MTV allegedly attempted to silence her “with legal threats” after she came forward with her claims.

Amanda Garcia has a baby and fiance

While it’s unclear exactly when the MTV star began dating barber Ray Reinhardt, her first Instagram picture with him dates back to February 9, 2019. Friends and Challenge co-stars Nelson and Da’Vonne both commented on the photo with their support.

She posted a few other pictures with her boyfriend, and they exchanged “I love you’s” in the comment section. On July 20, 2019, shortly after War of the Worlds aired, Amanda announced she and her boyfriend are expecting their first child together.

In a birthday post, she uploaded several silly videos with Ray and called him “the love of her life,” “an amazing man and father,” and noted he has a “heart bigger than the sky.” In September 2019, the couple had a gender reveal and announced a baby boy would soon join their family.

A couple of months later, in January 2020, Ray and Amanda became engaged before welcoming 6 lb. 13 oz. Avonni Anthony Reinhardt a month later. The MTV star has no plans on returning to The Challenge after the War of the Worlds’ incident.

Additionally, her Instagram bio states she traveled the world with MTV, but “now I’m on to my next adventure… Mommy life with my fiance, Ray.” Therefore, viewers will more than likely never see the AYTO star on reality television again.

The Challenge: Total Madness airs on April 1, 2020, at 8 p.m. EST on MTV.
