‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Set Leak Offers Marvel Fans Their First Glimpse at Bucky’s New Look

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was supposed to have premiered on Disney+ in August. But the pandemic delayed the series‘ release because they still had reshoots to complete when production shut down. Now, the cast and crew are back to work, and leaked photos from the set have given fans their first glimpse at Bucky’s new look.

Disney delayed ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ until 2021

Marvel Studios’ original plan was for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to be their first series to hit Disney+. The studio hasn’t made an official announcement. But according to The Verge, the description for TFATWS on Disney+ has changed. It now reveals that the show will premiere in 2021.

This means that WandaVision will be the first Marvel series on Disney’s new streaming platform. The new WandaVision trailer – starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany – notes that the show is “coming soon.” The speculation is that it will premiere around Thanksgiving.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the titular characters. Mackie plays Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Stan stars as James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes.

Marvel has not yet released a trailer for TFATWS. But there is plenty of fan footage on Tik Tok and other social media platforms. The studio also included TFATWS clips in their Super Bowl commercial back in February.

Emily VanCamp returns as Sharon Carter

Marvel first announced The Falcon and the Winter Soldier at last year’s D23 Expo. At that time, they revealed that Mackie and Stan would reprise their roles for the TV series. They also announced that Emily VanCamp would return as Sharon Carter.

According to MovieWeb, VanCamp has officially wrapped filming on TFATWS. The actress took to Instagram to let fans know that she had shot her last scene. VanCamp posted a pic of her chair from the set which featured her character’s name.

“That’s a wrap!” VanCamp wrote in the caption. “Always love playing this gal.”

Unfortunately, VanCamp didn’t reveal any details about the upcoming Disney+ series. But she did tease that the show was “coming soon.” She also promised fans in 2019 that they would find out where Sharon’s been during the events of Infinity War and Endgame.

VanCamp was filming with the cast and crew in Atlanta. It appears that production is coming to a close in the Georgia city. But there are still more scenes to shoot in Prague, Czech Republic.

Leaked photos from ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ show Bucky’s new look

Now that the cast and crew are back at work, Just Jared has obtained some new pics from the set. The images show Stan’s new look as the Winter Soldier. The long hair is now gone in favor of a shorter, spikier look. Some of the photos also feature Stan wearing a mask and social distancing in-between takes.

However, what really had fans talking was Bucky’s outfit. He’s now wearing a leather jacket and boots, which gives Bucky a grittier appearance. The cameras didn’t catch Bucky’s metal arm, though. There was no chrome in the pics, but that’s probably because they add effects in post-production.

Previous photos from the set seemingly showed Mackie’s new Captain America suit after he takes over for Steve Rogers. But, some believe that US Agent John Walker – played by Wyatt Russell – will be the new Captain America instead of Sam Wilson.

Fans will have to wait to find out who will step into Captain America’s shoes. They can find out when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ in 2021.
