90 Day Fiancé stars Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno returned for more in-law drama than ever on the premiere of The Family Chantel season 2 on October 12. This season, the family’s many conflicts will reach new heights as Chantel’s oldest brother, Royal Everett, returns to Atlanta with his new bride, Angenette.

Like Pedro and Chantel, Royal and Angenette – who is a decade younger than him and hails from the Philippines – tied the knot through a K-1 spousal visa.

Despite the similarities between their love stories, Chantel told TLC producers she didn’t exactly trust her brother’s new bride just yet. During a girls’ night with her sister Winter Everett on the season premiere of The Family Chantel, Chantel grew suspicious when she saw her brother’s uncharacteristic reaction to his wife’s night of partying.

Chantel invited Angenette to a girls’ night at the club

After working and going to school in Texas, Royal returned to his home state of Georgia with a new bride in tow. After meeting on social media, Royal and Angenette talked for about a year – and he proposed to his significantly younger wife on his very first trip to the Philippines.

On the season premiere of The Family Chantel, Chantel invited her new sister-in-law to a girls’ night with Winter, ostensibly to ease her transition into the U.S. But the 90 Day Fiancé star admitted she had other motives as well.

“I don’t feel like she’s showing her true self,” Chantel said skeptically of Angenette. “I think she’s just trying her best to make a good impression on my mom and dad. I feel like I need to get closer to her to protect my brother.”

As for Angenette, she told TLC producers she wanted to “bond” with Winter and Chantel on their night out at the club. But her new husband wasn’t necessarily thrilled about her partying plans.

“Royal told me that it is OK to go out, but not to drink too much,” Angenette laughed to 90 Day Fiancé producers. “He doesn’t want me to be drunk and can’t walk.” (Still, she giggled to one producer, she thought that was exactly what was going to happen that night.)

Angenette said it was her first time drinking hard liquor

Angenette, Winter, and Chantel arrived at the club all dolled up and ready to dance with Chantel’s friends. And after a few mixed drinks – which, Royal’s wife claimed, were her first sips of hard liquor – things started to loosen up.

Still, Angenette wasn’t exactly impressed by Chantel and Winter’s idea of a girls’ night. She confessed to 90 Day Fiancé producers that she’d prefer to be somewhere “peaceful” and less rowdy in order to enjoy a longer conversation with her sisters-in-law.

“Honestly, I don’t get to know them better by just dancing in a club and drinking with them,” Royal’s wife lamented.

Royal showed up to haul his wife home after she got too tipsy for his liking

Not long afterward, the ladies’ night was interrupted by Angenette’s husband. Chantel’s brother, who walked into the club only to see his sister twerking in a booth, showed up to collect his wife and take her home.

Clearly disgruntled, Royal told Chantel in no uncertain terms that he was bringing Angenette home.

“It seems like she might be a little too intoxicated right now,” he said of his wife.

Chantel followed her older brother out to the car to confront him for spoiling their fun. “We were having a good time!” the 90 Day Fiancé star insisted, adding that the night’s activities were completely “innocent.” But Royal was having none of it.

Chantel wondered if Royal didn’t fully trust his wife

Pedro and Chantel suspected that Royal might have showed up at the club out of jealousy or due to a possessive streak.

“I feel like Royal just didn’t want her to be out in any environment where she might be around other guys,” Chantel speculated to 90 Day Fiancé producers.

What’s more, she mused, she hadn’t seen her brother act like this with his previous partners. The change in his behavior made her wonder if Royal didn’t trust Angenette – possibly because she’d still been messaging other American men when the couple first met online.

Meanwhile, Royal chided Angenette (who claimed she’d had “just one” drink at the club) on the way home. He argued that she hadn’t been acting like a “married individual should act” when she was drinking and dancing at the club.

“Girls’ nights are girls’ nights, but it’s important that you conduct yourself as a classy individual,” Royal told his sheepish wife.

Angenette asked her husband if he didn’t find his sister Chantel classy, and his answer was a resounding “no.”

“I definitely do not find Chantel classy at all,” Royal declared.

Previews for later episodes of The Family Chantel showed Angenette, Royal, and Chantel at odds over the night of twerking at the club, so it looks like the girls’ night drama is just the start of many related arguments this season.
