Pedro is unsure about going to counseling with Chantel and her family, but he’s already agreed to it. “I telling Chantel I can going to counseling with Chantel’s family,” Pedro reveals to the cameras. “But I’m worried because all the people are going to blame me.”

Chantel is “really nervous” about the counseling session. She doesn’t want things to get physical again like they have in the past between Pedro and her brother, River.

Everyone shows up for counseling, including Chantel’s mother, Karen, her father, Thomas, and her sister, Winter. River is the last to show up, and they all gather around in chairs in a circle around their counselor.

What does Pedro reveal when he goes to counseling with Chantel and her family?

During the counseling session, Pedro gets real about his feelings. He says that Chantel doesn’t “defend” him, and he feels like no one is on his side.

“But my wife blames me for all that happens any time,” Pedro says. “She don’t defend me, any time. I love you, so much, but you tell your family everything that happens in my life. I feel like nobody’s on my side. And I need to have something can take care of my back you know?”

Pedro goes on to say that he wants Thomas to be his father, and River to be his brother, but it isn’t going to be like that. “Because this here is not my family,” Pedro says. “And that’s why I want to bring my mom and my sister living with me in the United States.”

This is the first that Chantel has heard of this, and it’s clearly shocking news for everyone else in her family as well. Chantel says she is “furious” about it, and that the way Pedro revealed the news feels like a “betrayal.”

“I’m so, so furious, for Pedro to drop that bombshell in family counseling feels like such a betrayal,” Chantel tells the cameras. “I’m just confused like, I had no idea. It’s taking everything out of me to not get up and leave this room. But I don’t want for my family to see me and Pedro argue.”

For Chantel’s mother, her suspicions are confirmed. “We’ve known for a long time that Pedro has had ulterior motives for marrying Chantel,” Karen says to producers. “But now we know that it’s all true.”

Will Pedro get what he wants and bring his family to America to live with him? We’ll have to see what happens in the future. Season 2 of The Family Chantel premieres on Monday, October 12 at 9 p.m. E.S.T.
