From speedsters to shape-shifters, The Flash boasts an impressive roster of metahuman heroes and villains. Danielle Nicolet plays one such character, empathic attorney Cecile Horton. While the legal eagle possesses very cool abilities, Nicolet confessed that she would enjoy portraying a storyline in which Cecile swaps powers with another member of Team Flash.

Danielle Nicolet talked ‘The Flash’ at DC FanDome

DC FanDome is the digital streaming event produced for DC Comics enthusiasts. During the digital conference, a panel of The Flash stars answered burning questions about season 7, coming in 2021 to The CW.

The Flash regulars, Nicolet, Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Kayla Compton, and Brandon McKnight, joined the panel along with showrunner Eric Wallace. Of the principal actors, only Jesse L. Martin and Tom Cavanagh were absent.

Nicolet recapped how Cecile’s powers have grown dramatically on ‘The Flash’

Nicolet joined the cast as a recurring player before being promoted to series regular status in The Flash Season 5. During the DC FanDome panel, Nicolet reminded fans just how dramatically Cecile’s powers have grown over the last several seasons.

“I’m always trying to figure out where Cecile fits, and where she can support the team, and where she can support the show in its entirety,” remarked Nicolet. “So, it’s a blast for me because I got to be a regular person, and then I got to be a telepath, and then I got to be an empath, and now I am a meta attorney — a meta defense attorney. And then, from what I understand, there are going to be some shifts next season too.”

Cecile’s powers will continue to evolve during season 7

The Flash Season 7 teaser trailer gives fans a glimpse of a juicy plot twist that revolves around Cecile. In the preview, she comes face-to-face with the metahuman, Top, who is also an empath. In a shocker, Top puts the whammy on Cecile, seemingly giving her powers a bit more oomph.

Nicolet dished to DC FanDome about the eventual power surge her character will get. “I think that it’s fair to say Cecile’s powers up until this point have been passive, and I think going forward, we’re going to see them evolving into something that’s more active. We’re going to find Cecile exploring that and maybe struggling with it a little bit and finding her way with it. And possibly getting herself into some trouble in the meantime.”

As useful as Cecile’s abilities have been, Nicolet admitted to the DC FanDome viewing audience that she would enjoy a power swap, at least temporarily.

Nicolet confessed, “I have wanted Cecile to be bad, just a little bit bad forever. Just a little bit. Because she’s so good. I would have a lot of fun playing Bad Cecile. I’ve offered many times to switch powers with Killer Frost just for an episode, but unfortunately, Eric [Wallace] does not believe me to be as good of a writer as I am an actor. So, he continues to not buy my pitches.”
