‘The Good Doctor’: Shaun and Carly Might Take Their Relationship to the Next Level

“The Good Doctor” season three, episode eight, might be a big one for Shaun. The doctor and his girlfriend, Carly, are looking to take their relationship to the next level. Here’s everything Showbiz Cheat knows about the upcoming episode of “The Good Doctor.” 

Carly and Shaun are navigating their relationship

This season, Carly and Shaun made their relationship official. They’re now officially a couple. Consequently, they’re taking on the challenging task of figuring out what does and doesn’t work for their relationship. They’ve tackled the issue of holding hands, meeting Carly’s friends, and kissing.

In one episode, we see their relationship take a turn after Carly explains why she didn’t invite Shaun to a get-together with her friends. Carly explains she didn’t think Shaun would be comfortable, and she was uncertain how her friends would take to him. Shaun wasn’t thrilled with the news and asked Carly if she was ever this careful with other boyfriends. She said she hasn’t taken these steps with other boyfriends. Carly later apologizes, and they patch things up.

Shaun thought his first date with Carly was a disaster

Getting into the dating game was tough on Shaun. After his first date with Carly (season three, episode one, titled “Disaster”), he told his co-workers he was uncomfortable during his date. In his words, the date was a “disaster.” He said he spent a lot of his energy trying to make Carly happy, and he wasn’t sure if he was doing the right things at the right time. He told a joke that didn’t land well, and he ended up bumping a restaurant patron, causing her to dislocate a limb. Here’s how Shaun described his first date with Carly:

It was exhausting. Everything was always out of control. Anything could happen at any time. Anything did. There was too much to remember to do; too much to remember not to do, and none of it made sense. It was hard, uncomfortable, unpleasant. I spent the whole evening doing unnatural things to make her happy and I have no idea if she was happy and I know I wasn’t happy. It was all a disaster.

Carly proposes getting intimate with Shaun

Despite what Shaun thought was a rocky start, their relationship moves forward. Carly and Shaun continue to explore new relationship territory. Now that they have gotten to know each other, Carly wants to move on to a more physical relationship. In season three, episode eight, titled “Moonshot,” she expresses her desire to do more than just kiss and hold hands. “If you’re game, we could try tonight,” she says in the teaser promo.

From the looks of the promo, we know exactly what she wants to try with Shaun. In season three, episode eight, it looks like she just might get what she’s been hoping for. Will Shaun be comfortable enough to take the next step with Carly? We can’t wait to see what happens next.
