It’s been over a decade since the original iteration of The Hills aired. Originally, The Hills followed Lauren Conrad after she graduated high school and went on to her first job at Teen Vogue. But the show also introduced us to Whitney Port, who later became a focal point on the show. During filming, Port was also just starting out in her career. Does she regret any of the things she did while on the show?

Whitney Port and her husband re-watch ‘The Hill’s

Most people have been trying to find ways to preoccupy themselves during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. To entertain themselves, Port and her husband Tim Rosenman recorded themselves re-watching The Hills.

Despite being over a decade wiser, Port still thinks she handled herself well on the show.

“I’ve never had regrets about the show. I always feel like I was very aware of what I was doing in the moment and I was mature. I was like, a mature 21-year-old and I knew that I didn’t want to just be part of the drama for drama sake. I knew that I wanted to build a career,” she told HollywoodLife. “I really am proud of myself for how I handled myself then.”

The one thing that Port does wish that she had done was be more present during that time period.

“I wish I had more access to what I was up to and could know what I was thinking in that time,” she said.

Who is Whitney still friends with?

Before filming for The Hills: New Beginnings, Port didn’t really talk to any of her former co-stars. But now, she has grown closer to Heidi Montag.

“This season I’ve only filmed a little bit. And I’ve actually had some really good conversations with Heidi,” Port said on the Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad podcast. “We were not close before, and I think I always had preconceived notions of her because I didn’t know her personally. I was just getting reports back in the closet from Lauren.

“I have a newfound appreciation for her because I feel like she just completely owns who she is,” she continued. “And whether or not it’s how I would live my life, it doesn’t even matter. I just feel like she’s so unapologetically herself that I respect that.”

Port and Conrad, on the other hand, don’t really keep in touch. On an episode of Port’s podcast, With Whit, she described her and Conrad as “good friends that you had really special experiences with, that you always have love for, but that you don’t always keep in touch with.”

Conrad agreed.

“I think, like, what you said is perfectly describing it. I have so much love in my heart for you, and like we shared this really weird, unique thing, and I think it is – it’s like old college friends,” she said. “I’ll always remember you like that, and I’ll never have that with anybody else.”
