After college, Richardson-Sellers began pursuing a career in acting and began auditioning for various films and series. In 2015, she landed her first major role as Korr Sella in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The Kissing Booth 2 picks up with Elle (Joey King) and Noah (Jacob Elordi) as they try to navigate the struggles of a long-distance relationship. Richardson-Sellers takes on the role of Chloe Winthrop, a fellow student who befriends Noah (Jacob Elordi) as he starts out his freshman year at Harvard.

But Chloe’s presence in Noah’s life starts to irk Elle. And when she comes to visit him at Harvard, she feels intimidated by Chloe’s strength and confidence. But to make matters worse, she finds an earring in Noah’s room, and begins to believe that he’s cheating on her with Chloe.

Maisie Richardson-Sellers had a lot of fun playing Chloe

In an interview with Collider, Richardson-Sellers noted that she loved the first Kissing Booth film and is thrilled to be a part of the sequel. When talking about Chloe, the actor said she was really drawn to what the character represents.

“She’s so smart, she’s traveled the world and speaks five languages, she’s lived everywhere, she’s studying at Harvard,” said Richardson-Sellers. “It’s also really important to see people of color in those kinds of positions ‘cause we don’t often see those roles going to people of color. That excited me about the project, as well.”

“The more diverse the representation is and the more we’re showing the nuance of the representation, then it’s that whole thing of, if you see her then you can be her,” she continued. “She can inspire young girls to go to Harvard and be this character in what is a very white male world. For me, it’s quite a powerful representation to be able to portray.”

If The Kissing Booth gets a Part 3, Richardson-Sellers will likely return to reprise her role as Noah’s new BFF.  The Kissing Booth 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
