The final season of The Last Kingdom is eagerly expected by fans. However, it’s a sad revelation that after season 5 the show will be officially over with more story left to tell. At least viewers still have season 5 to watch before it’s all really over.

Actors and others who work on the show have shared content ahead of the new season, which has been nice to see. Alexander Dreymon, who plays the main character Uhtred in the series, recently shared a behind-the-scenes image that features Arnas Fedaravicius (Sihtric) and Jeppe Beck Laursen (Haesten) while at the same time, he thanks one of the directors from season 5. We have all the details fans will want to know about it.

Alexander Dreymon (Uhtred) shared a behind-the-scenes image featuring Arnas Fedaravicius (Sihtric) and Jeppe Beck Laursen (Haesten) from ‘The Last Kingdom’

On August 23, 2021, Dreymon shared an image on Instagram that fans will want to see. It’s a behind-the-scenes shot from the upcoming season that includes Arnas Fedaravicius (Sihtric) and Jeppe Beck Laursen (Haesten) as well as director Paul Wilmshurst. Wilmshurst directs episodes 4, 5, and 6 in the upcoming season according to his IMDb page.

In the image Dreymon can be seen with his back to the camera with Uhtred’s sword on his back and warrior attire on. Next to him is Fedaravicius in warrior attire as Sihtric as well as he looks at Dreymon. Beck Laursen stands in front of Uhtred wearing a brown ensemble with furs on dressed as Haesten. He also appears to be looking at Dreymon, as does the director, who stands nearby wearing a face mask. Other people can be seen nearby in the shot as well, with trees here and there as well as different props.

Dreymon tagged everyone in the post, and he also captioned the post with a “thank you” to the director in a sweet sentiment that fans can surely appreciate.

“Paul Wilmshurst directed 3 episodes back-to-back this season,” Dreymon wrote in the caption of the post. “An extremely impressive feat considering the huge workload and countless challenges (COVID, continuity within changing seasons, stubborn horses, stubborn actors… 😊). So thank you,” and he tags Wilmshurst’s account, continuing, “for your guidance and your unshakable positive and joyful energy!”

Over 99,000 people liked the post, and over 1,200 people commented on it. It’s a post fans can appreciate considering it includes such fan-favorite actors and characters in it. Plus, Dreymon included a nice sentiment thanking one of the directors from season 5, which is nice to see.

It’s always great to see behind-the-scenes content like this. We’ll have to see what else is shared before the final season of The Last Kingdom finally premieres. Hopefully, fans won’t have to wait too much longer for season 5 to drop. We’ll be eagerly awaiting it along with the rest of you.
