The Last Kingdom finally has a new season in sight and fans couldn’t be more excited. It’s been a long time since season 3 was released and viewers are ready for a new season. Luckily, season 4 is right around the corner and there’s new behind-the-scenes content to hold fans over until then.

An all-new season of The Last Kingdom will premiere on Netflix on Sunday, April 26. The news came via the official social media accounts for the series.

“Shield walls at the ready, Arselings! Prepare for battle as Season 4 of The Last Kingdom comes to NETFLIX on Sunday 26th April ⚔️ #TheLastKingdom #Season4,” the post is captioned on Instagram.

Uhtred can be seen holding weapons aboard a ship. This can only mean there will be lots of action to come in the new season.

See Magnus Bruun turn into Cnut

Cnut is a Dane played by Magnus Bruun. He’s allied with Brida (Emily Cox) and we’ll be seeing more of them in the upcoming season. The official social media accounts recently shared a video of Bruun going from just having a killer beard to looking like a fierce Viking warrior.

The video is sped up to show all the work and detail that goes into making Cnut the person he is. The work is insane and includes tattoos, a lot of makeup, and getting his hair looking just right. They even added blood on his forehead to make it appear that he’s injured.

“It takes a long time to look that beautiful, right @magnusbruun?” the post is captioned.

Magnus Bruun comments on the post

Obviously Bruun appreciates all the hard work that goes into making him the Dane he is. He commented on the post giving a shoutout to the wonderful team of makeup artists that make him look just right every time.

“It sure does! But most importantly a great team of makeup artists. @pixxpickles @norakoltai @_etele_hair_ 💪💄⚔️🔥🙏 BTW the blood they put on in the end is NOT mine. Saxons have a tendency ‘to spray’ when you chop them down,” Bruun commented.

Fans will get to see more of Cnut in season 4

Cnut is highlighted in the new trailer for season 4 in a big way. It seems he’s still teamed up with Brida. “When the kings are dead, we will sit on Alfred’s throne,” Cnut says to Brida. There’s also a number of shots of him in battle. It looks like Cnut will be fighting, and that’s to be expected.

Will Cnut and Brida be able to last or could there be trouble in paradise early on? It would be impossible for Brida to not still care for Ragnar after all the years they spent together. Just because he’s dead won’t make her mourn him any less. Hopefully we’ll find out how things play out for this new situation in season 4 of The Last Kingdom.
