Clues for the Night Angel on ‘The Masked Singer’

Host Nick Cannon introduced Group C with six new costumes: the Night Angel, Bear, Swan, Rhino, T-Rex, and Astronaut. In Night Angel’s clue package, which took place at a motel, she began by stating she felt “deeply blessed her entire life.”

The Night Angel opened door No. 4, and three dancers wearing duck masks “quacked” at her. She then held up a key with a tag numbered “2” and unlocked the fifth door.

Inside, four dancers dressed as “gangster grandmas” held up baseball bats as if they were going to beat her up. While the Night Angel opened doors, she explained that “fame has sometimes brought me down like a landslide,” but she always “finds the light.”

Additionally, the Night Angel believes her “positive attitude” is her “magic trick” and “key to my success.” Behind door No. 6, three dancers were having a party. Night Angel joined them and began dancing alongside them as she shared, “the boy is mine” and it’s her “prerogative to have a little fun.”

Because the Night Angel considers herself “a little dangerous and a little sweet,” she chose to sing the 1986 Bon Jovi rock classic, “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

Fans believe the Night Angel is ‘RHOA’ star Kandi Burruss

For many fans, as soon as they saw the grandmas they immediately thought the Night Angel was singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality Kandi Burruss from her popular Atlanta-based Southern restaurant, Old Lady Gang.

At the beginning of her clue package, she talked about the “night” being “mysterious,” and some believe it’s a reference to her 2018 Bravo web series, Kandi Koated Nights.

Others figured out the numbers on the doors could be clues for a 1999 song she co-wrote with rapper Solé: “4, 5, 6.” The key with the tag numbered “2” could signify her two Grammy nominations (including one win) or her joining Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta in the second season.

She also noted that fame has brought her down, potentially referencing her many controversies throughout her 11 seasons on the show. Additionally, behind two of the doors were three dancers, and that could represent the three Bravo spinoffs she has received.

Toward the end of the package, she hinted, “the boy is mine,” which is also the title of an R&B duet Kandi wrote for artists Brandy and Monica. Finally, several viewers remembered her from the 1993 R&B group Xscape and recognized her distinct voice.

There are a few who aren’t sold on Kandi as the Night Angel and believe she could be Stevie Nicks, Gloria Estefan, Shania Twain, or Brandi. Watch The Masked Singer Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox to see the Night Angel reveal her identity.
