Marvel fans have plenty of Spider-Man names on their minds thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker clashed with villains from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man movies, tying together the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony universes. This caused fans to get suspicious when Sony’s next Spider-Man villain movie suffered a delay. Fans wonder if Morbius, Andrew Garfield, and Sony could come together.

‘Morbius,’ Andrew Garfield, the MCU, and more seems tangled in trailers

The Morbius trailer teased hints and connections to seemingly several other universes. Fans spotted Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and the Daily Bugle newspaper.

Michael Keaton getting a prominent shot in the Morbius trailer where he tells Leto’s Michael Morbius to “keep in touch” led fans to suspect Sony might want to try their hand at a Sinister Six movie again.

Sony originally had plans for a Sinister Six spinoff movie to accompany Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man films. However, Sony canceled it and the rest of the planned tie-in movies for Garfield’s webhead.

Fans think Sony plans to revisit it, though. And now they believe that the latest Morbius delay could add Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man to the film.

Jared Leto teased the Sony movie’s connection to ‘a much larger universe’

One of the most significant pieces of evidence fans have pointed to come from Morbius actor Jared Leto himself. He said several times that Morbius will be part of “a much larger universe.’

“In the film version of Morbius that we’re bringing to you now, he’s also a part of a much larger universe. If you’ve seen the last Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, you know the Multiverse has officially opened,” Leto said during Brazil CCXP 2021 (via MovieWeb).

“There’s all kinds of opportunities for villains to meet up, thrive, and maybe even nurture their more sinister intents,” he teased. “That’s all I’m gonna say for right now.”

CBR reported the actor calling it “an exciting role and an expanding universe.” Leto has continuously teased more to the Morbius trailer than meets the eye.

And with Morbius, Andrew Garfield, and Marvel, they would stand as no strangers to editing around secrets.

Fans scoured every interview with Andrew Garfield, Morbius, and anything related to Spider-Man. However, Marvel managed to keep many secrets under wraps for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

And fans believe that Morbius could then do it again with Andrew Garfield.
