The main reason many viewers tuned in to Apple TV+’s The Morning Show Season 1 was the star-studded cast led by Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. It didn’t stop there, either. The Office star Steve Carell portrayed the recently fired co-host, Mitch Kessler. Plus, Billy Crudup became one of the most interesting break-out characters. However, there’s one person that Witherspoon and Aniston wish would join The Morning Show cast from their Friends days.

‘Friends’ alum Witherspoon and Aniston reunited in ‘The Morning Show’ cast

Before Witherspoon and Aniston starred opposite each other in the cast of The Morning Show, they appeared together on Friends. In season 6, Witherspoon became Rachel’s sister, Jill Green. However, she only made two appearances, in “The One With Rachel’s Sister” and “The One Where Chandler Can’t Cry.” The sisters fought over Ross in Witherspoon’s first appearance on the show, and viewers loved her.

However, Witherspoon never returned to the cast of Friends, despite production extending her an invitation. She did not love that the sitcom performed in front of a live studio audience. Fear kept Witherspoon from returning to Friends as Aniston’s on-screen sister again. Luckily, the two reunited in The Morning Show cast.

Witherspoon and Aniston want Christina Applegate to join the Apple TV+ drama

Jill Green wasn’t Rachel’s only sister in Friends. Two years after Witherspoon guest-starred in the Friends cast, Christina Applegate became Rachel’s other sister, Amy. In 2002, she appeared in “The One With Rachel’s Other Sister” and “The One Where Rachel’s Sister Babysits.” Although Witherspoon and Applegate never appeared together in the sitcom, Witherspoon believes Rachel’s other sister should join the new show.

In an interview with Entertainment Online, Witherspoon and Aniston agreed that Applegate must join The Morning Show cast.

“We need Christina Applegate to join us,” Witherspoon told the outlet. “That would be fun.”

The Morning Show co-star agreed that she would be a great addition to the series.

“We do,” Aniston added. “We should do something like that.”

Who is in ‘The Morning Show’ cast on Apple TV+?

In addition to Aniston and Witherspoon starring as Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson, many stars return to The Morning Show Season 2 cast. Of course, Carell and Crudup reprise their roles in the drama. Mark Duplass returns as Charlie “Chip” Black and Nestor Carbonell meteorologist Yanko Flores. Karen Pittman plays producer Mia Jordan, while Bel Powley returns as production assistant Claire Conway.
