Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke want The O.C. fans to “acknowledge them now or lose them forever.” The duo are bringing listeners the Welcome to The O.C., B*tches podcast this spring.

Like Brian Baumgartner has done with his Office podcasts, Clarke and Bilson are bringing fans of The O.C. behind the scenes of the teen drama series. Here’s everything you need to know about the podcast, including where to find it, what topics The O.C. stars will cover, and when new episodes will be released.

‘The O.C.’ is a cultural milestone from the early 2000s

In August 2003, Fox introduced a generation of teens to a new series from Gossip Girl’s Josh Schwartz. The series projected young actors like Ben McKenzie, Adam Brody, Mischa Barton, and Bilson to stardom. Ryan Atwood, Seth Cohen, Marissa Cooper, and Summer Roberts — the show’s fearless foursome — navigated high school, relationships, and the drama that comes along with it.

The O.C. may have only run for four seasons, but the show quickly became a cultural phenomenon. The O.C. made a lasting impact on the music industry in the early 2000s. But the show also inspired a new wave of reality television series, including The Real Housewives of Orange County. Now, Bilson and Clarke are looking to explore that phenomenon further.

The cast of ‘The O.C.’ are bringing fans a new podcast

Bilson and Clarke partnered with Kast Media to bring fans behind-the-scenes of the teen drama series. Per Deadline, each episode of the Welcome to The O.C., B*tches podcast will break down an episode of the show.

Clarke and Bilson will interview sociologists for a better idea on why show has made such a lasting impact on audiences. Former cast members like Peter Gallagher and series creator Schwartz will also be interviewed. Bilson and Clarke will host other guests like musicians, writers, and other behind-the-scenes members who made the show possible.

‘Welcome to The O.C., B*tches’ podcast will cover every episode of ‘The O.C.’

“This is an O.C. rewatch podcast as only the two b*tches who were there could do,” Clarke explains in the trailer. “We’re starting from the beginning, back when we were just guest stars.” Since Bilson and Clarke are rewatching the entire series, O.C. fans can expect at least 92 episodes of the Welcome to The O.C., B*tches podcast.

“I’m so excited to be doing this podcast with Mindy,” Bilson told Deadline. After a difficult 2020, Bilson hopes the podcast will bring “light and laughter” to listeners.

“Going back and watching all of these episodes has been so fun and I can’t wait to talk about it all,” she added. “[The podcast will highlight] my own personal experiences as well as others involved with the show.” Bilson says fans will get stories from camera operators, makeup artists, and of course, the cast so many grew to love over the show’s four-year run.

When will the ‘The O.C.’ podcast air?

Welcome to The O.C., B*tches will release new episodes starting April 27. Fans can tune in every Tuesday to hear Clarke and Bilson break down another episode of the series.
