In the pages of her book “The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime,” Drummond wrote a passage regarding this recipe and her family’s love for it.

“As far as my four children are concerned, dinner doesn’t get any better than this. It’s creamy! It’s cheesy” It has chicken in it! And that’s all there is to say about that,” Drummond penned.

She also commented on the recipe on her Pioneer Woman blog.

“My boys came in and asked what was for dinner in the middle of the afternoon. Then I looked at them and cried,” she exclaimed after a particularly tough day of recipe testing.

“Then I decided to whip up this easy skillet pasta dish! It’s one of my kids’ faves. I had everything I needed in my pantry and fridge,” Drummond exclaimed.

Cook pasta according to package directions.

Season chicken and cook until brown in a skillet coated with butter.

Add more butter and cook garlic but do not brown. Add wine or chicken broth, followed by half and half, cream, salt, and pepper. Once it has thickened, add cheese pasta, followed by chicken which you can either dice into smaller pieces or cut into strips.

This meal can be served with a simple salad. Or you can dress it up a bit by adding a simple roasted green vegetable to balance out the heavy sauce on the pasta and chicken.
