The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond enjoys trying new recipes. She often tells her fans about new ways to use common ingredients so they can liven up old favorites or create meals they haven’t tried before. The Food Network cook shared with her fans the grilled chicken wrap recipe she made that knocked her socks off. Here are the details.

Ree Drummond’s ‘perfect’ on-the-go lunch

Chicken is part of Drummond’s regular diet. When asked about her meal habits, she once told Food Network’s Dish she often eats roasted chicken legs for dinner. “If it’s wintertime, roasted chicken legs and broccoli cheese soup. If it’s summertime, roasted chicken legs, refrigerator rolls, and cool, colorful salad … and it’s too hot to eat dessert, so we all have fruit,” she told the publication.

Chicken cobb salad is a favorite of Drummond’s. According to her, it’s the “perfect” lunch when you’re short on time and need to get to your destination quickly. Drummond prefers adding ingredients such as avocado, bacon, grape tomatoes, scallions, and sour cream. “This Cobb salad is mixed and stuffed in a sandwich!” says Drummond. “It’s a hearty bite, perfect for an on-the-go lunch.”

‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond says this wrap is ‘utterly delightful’

Another chicken dish Drummond loves is the grilled chicken and strawberry salad wrap. Drummond says this wrap is so good, she can’t help but say, “yum” when she eats it. The Accidental Country Girl describes this chicken wrap as “utterly delightful” on her blog.

Drummond was inspired to make the grilled chicken and strawberry salad wrap one day when she came home from church. She was hungry after the service, so she whipped up a quick meal to satisfy her hunger.

Drummond couldn’t say enough good things about this mouth-watering meal that delighted her tastebuds. It started out as a salad, but she decided to place the salad in a wrap so she could get in some carbs. She figured this would make the lunch more filling since she was very hungry (or “ravenously ravenous,” as she described herself on her blog).

Drummond was quite pleased with the results. “It was fresh, crunchy, with a nice combination of protein and fruit and greens…oh, and goat cheese,” she says.

Ree Drummond also loves sushi

Chicken isn’t the only food Drummond delights in. She also enjoys eating sushi. She tells Delish that when she eats at a restaurant, her favorite menu item is sushi. Drummond tends to order sushi because she doesn’t eat it much when she’s home.

Eating out gives Drummond an excuse to indulge in food she rarely eats on the ranch. “I love sushi, and I usually order it because it’s the farthest thing from what I make at home,” says Drummond.

In her book Frontier Follies, Drummond talks about her love of sushi. She says it’s a dish she “always wants,” and it makes her feel happy from “head to toe.”
