‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Suffered a Wardrobe Malfunction Right Before Her Daughter’s Wedding

Ree Drummond revealed the hilarious story behind the wardrobe malfunction she suffered less than an hour before her daughter Alex's wedding. Drummond stepped on a vent cover, her shoe heel went through her dress, and she said she got stuck on the vent. The photographer and videographer came to her rescue.

Ree Drummond looked stunning at her daughter Alex’s wedding earlier this year but The Pioneer Woman star revealed that she had a wardrobe malfunction less than an hour before the big event. Drummond shared the details of the unfortunate mishap and how she managed to get through it with a sense of humor.

Ree Drummond shared her wedding wardrobe malfunction

Drummond’s daughter’s wedding looked so perfect from the photos The Pioneer Woman star shared on Instagram and in the Wedding on the Ranch special that aired on Food Network and Discovery+.

The Pioneer Woman star also showed how, in the moments leading up to the wedding, her shoe’s heel went through her dress and she was stuck on a vent cover.

“Less than an hour before the wedding, as I was walking down the hallway of the Lodge to help Alex get dressed, I stepped on a vent cover and my heel went through my dress and got stuck (and I mean stuck) between the slats,” she captioned a photo on Instagram. “This is photographer @grantdaniels and videographer @31films stepping outside of their job descriptions and coming to my aid.”

“I’m tryna act all unfazed here and smile through the pain, but in my heart I was thinking ‘Really, Ree? REALLY???’ (You can see the wedding, including this unfortunate scene, on @discoveryplus!),” she added.

Ree Drummond’s mother of the bride dress had a funny story

Drummond shared the story behind her mother of the bride dress and its connection to the Real Housewives of New York in a blog post on The Pioneer Woman website.

Countess Luann wore an outfit to her cabaret show from designer Jovani — and Dorinda was in the audience wearing the same designer label. “And she was miffed, not only that she and Luann had experienced recent tension in their friendship, but that she had been the one to introduce Luann to the Jovani brand in the first place,” Drummond wrote.

“Out of the blue, while Luann was starting her performance, she suddenly started clapping and sarcastically yelling, ‘Jovani! JOVANI! Thank you, Jovani! JOVANI!,’” The Pioneer Woman star explained.

Based on that epic Real Housewives moment, Drummond said she hoped to find a dress for the wedding from Jovani.

“I Googled ‘Jovani’ and decided at that moment that I was going to do everything I could to wear the brand at Alex’s wedding, because the Real Housewives are my imaginary best friends and I wanted them to come to the wedding with me,” she shared.

She said the dress was ‘a little outside my comfort zone’

Drummond was successful in finding the perfect Jovani dress that she said was “an allover soft blue scrolly pattern against a nude shell.”

She ordered other dresses as well but “ended up going with the Jovani,” which she said, “was a little outside my comfort zone in terms of being snug, and I tugged on it a little throughout the night.”

Drummond said her other choice didn’t fit the ranch setting, however. “The other choice was more fancy and glitzy, and it wouldn’t have felt quite right at the ranch,” she wrote.
