“The Pioneer Woman” star Ree Drummond calls herself an “accidental country girl,” but that doesn’t mean she steers clear of putting in some work on the ranch. Here’s what Drummond revealed in the winter issue of “The Pioneer Woman” magazine about what she wears during the winter when she’s out on the Drummond ranch.

Wintertime on the Drummond ranch can get chilly. The Food Network star told her magazine readers it’s usually windy and very cold. The winds tend to be higher on the ranch than in town, according to Drummond. It’s also much colder. However, Drummond says cowboys don’t get any days off. They’re required to be outside every day, taking care of the animals and the land. Here’s what she told her readers about the life on the ranch:

Temperatures rarely go above the 30s here—and that’s not taking into account the wind, which blows harder on the ranch than in town. And then there are the ice storms, when rain freezes and coats everything it lands on. You can hear it hitting the house, and you just know that when it’s all over there is going to be some form of chaos to contend with: Power lines will go down and we’ll have no electricity, or the water lines will freeze. There’s never a dull moment!

Since winters can be rough on the ranch, Drummond has to make sure she is dressed appropriately. Being cold in the dead of winter isn’t much fun. Drummond pays close attention to her outwear when she has to go outside during inclement weather. In her magazine column, she told a reader her ranch wardrobe consists of a heavy coat. “The wind blows constantly on the ranch, and when it’s bitter cold in the winter, the wind is even more unbearable. When I go out with the dogs, I wear a knee-length down-filled parka with a furry hood from The North Face, but sometimes I get lazy and just throw on Ladd’s Carhartt jacket!”

Where does Ree Drummond buy her blouses?

Another question Drummond often gets is where she purchases her blouses. If you’re looking for a top just like hers, you’re in luck. Drummond mentioned on her Instagram that she often buys tops from the clothing company Soft Surroundings. Sometimes she will even have closet giveaways on The Pioneer Woman blog. Drummond mentioned she also purchases tops from Ella Moss, Hale Bob, and Leifsdottir.

Where does Ree Drummond buy her boots?

Drummond’s boots are also a hot topic. Her Instagram fans often post inquiries about the home chef’s footwear. “The Pioneer Woman” star says her favorite pair of cowboy boots are made by a company called Lucchese. “I pronounce it ‘Loo-kay-see,’ but some people say ‘Loo-chess,’” said Drummond in her blog post. She told her fans she was immediately drawn to a pair of light brown boots she purchased from the retailer.

One thing Drummond notes is that boots from this company tend to be expensive. As of this writing, the most expensive boots on their website are $3,995. The least expensive Lucchese boot is $295. Other brands purchased by Drummond include Frye and Junk Gypsy boots by Lane.
