Amanda Seales is voicing her frustration over allegedly being left out of the farewell episode of The Real. Seales joined the TV show in 2020 as a permanent co-host, taking over for Tamar Braxton. But her stint on the daytime talker was brief, lasting just six months. Still, she was shocked when she found out she’d been left out of a montage of moments recapping the history of the show.

‘The Real’ has ended after 8 seasons

News broke in April that The Real would be ending after eight seasons on the air. The show aired its final episode on Friday, June 3, celebrating with a look back at some of the most memorable moments since The Real‘s 2013 debut. The montage featured every co-host the show has ever had — Adrienne Bailon, Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Jeannie Mai Jenkins, Loni Love, and Garcelle Beauvais — with the exception of Seales.

Amanda Seales’ response to the alleged omission from the farewell episode of ‘The Real’

Noticing the omission, Seales took to Instagram with a message expressing shock and frustration.

“Apparently ‘The Real’ in their finale episode did promo… I am not featured in this thumbnail, and I am not featured in the farewell episode apparently,” she said in a video, next to a screenshot of the thumbnail above. “I’ll have some things to say about that… Whew, child… I must really be out here shaking the table.” She also called the snub “rude” in the caption of the video.

As her post circulated the Internet, fans and followers of Seales’ took to the comment section to support her.

“They can’t change herstory we know you were there 🤷‍♂️,” read one comment.

“Their loss,” said another.

“You were too real for them anyways,” a third comment said in part.

Even celebrities rallied behind her

“Girl… shake the table and burn the house down,” wrote singer and songwriter Melanie Fiona. “That’s wack and tastelesss on a whole other level. Keep doing you! 💜”

Meanwhile, Basketball Wives star Tami Roman said the move was “in very poor taste.”

“Maybe they didn’t have a say when the package was being created BUT once they saw it, it would’ve been respectable for them to speak up,” Roman added. “I do know they typically voice their opinions & maybe they did in this instance & it fell on deaf ears. In any event, you were a valuable contribution at a time when the show was struggling & that should’ve been acknowledged PERIOD.”

Yvette Nicole Brown agreed that, “Everyone who contributed to the success of the show should be celebrated. All of y’all gave your all ❤️.”

It’s unclear why the montage did not feature Seales and how the show decided what should be included. But some speculated that it could have to do with her controversial departure from the show, which Seales claimed had to do with censorship concerns. So far, The Real has not commented on the matter, but we’ll let you know if and when any further information arises.
