The Real is out another co-host. Just a few weeks after Amanda Seales announced that she opted out of renewing her contract, OG co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley revealed on Instagram that she too is leaving the show.

While many fans are heartbroken over this news, others have cast their votes on who they want to join The Real ladies in the upcoming seasons. Though people have been naming various celebrities and influencers, fans really want to see actor Keke Palmer land the co-hosting gig.

Tamera Mowry-Housley announced her exit after six seasons

Mowry-Housley took to Instagram on July 13 to announce to her 7.8 million followers that she is leaving the round table at The Real after six seasons.

“For seven years, my home and heart has been at The Real. The friendships that I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve had the blessing to interview have changed my life for the better,” she wrote.

“I’m so proud of what all the ladies and I have accomplished there, including two well-deserved NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy. However, all good things must come to an end, and it’s with a bittersweet smile that I announced that I am moving on from The Real,” the Sister, Sister alum continued.

She concluded, “To my fellow hosts, I love you, I will miss you, and I will always be there for you. Thank you for teaching me, supporting me, and loving all of me. Sisters forever. I’ll be rooting for you, as I look forward to spending more time with my family, pursuing amazing new opportunities, and embarking on the next chapter of my life.”

Mowry’s announcement comes a little more than a month after former co-host Amanda Seales revealed that she wasn’t renewing her contract over censorship concerns and potential mistreatment by employees.

“I didn’t renew it because it doesn’t feel good to my soul to be at a place where I cannot speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to,” Seales told actor Brandon Victor Dixon in an Instagram Live video on June 3. “And where the people who are speaking to me in disparaging ways are not being handled.”

Fans think Keke Palmer would make a great co-host

With The Real co-host lineup now down to Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, and Jeannie Mai, the Instagram account Hollywood Unlocked recently posed the question: “Which celebrity or influencer would make a great host on The Real?”

While fans were quick to name A-listers like singer Monica and Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes — both have guest co-hosted on the show in the past — many believe that actor Keke Palmer would be a great addition to the Emmy-award winning talk show.

Since she recently co-hosted ABC’s Strahan, Sara, and Keke and has a way of winning over viewers with her effervescent personality and witty remarks, the votes for Palmer have been unanimous.

In fact, fans previously suggest Palmer be brought on as a co-host on The Real following Tamar Braxton’s departure in 2016.

While it was rumored that producers were looking to have the actor join the ladies on the hit daytime talk show, Palmer eventually set the record straight on Twitter.

“I’m not hosting the real,” she tweeted, “But I am still doing my talk show.”

Who will replace Tamera Mowry-Housley as co-host?

Though many are on board with the idea of Palmer replacing Mowry-Housely on The Real, there’s no word on who producers plan to bring on as the new co-host.

Since the series is renewed for a seventh and eighth season through 2022, producers could be looking at potential replacements as we speak.

We guess we’ll just have to wait and see who gets chosen to join the fabulous ladies of The Real.
