With the premiere of The Umbrella Academy Season 3 only a few months away, excitement for the upcoming season continues to grow. Netflix has yet to release a full-length trailer for the new season. Right now, fans can only put together their own theories about what season 3 entails. However, after a quick look at the official synopsis, it looks like the Hargreeves siblings might join forces with The Sparrow Academy.

After saving the world from yet another apocalypse, the members of The Umbrella Academy returned home to celebrate. That celebration quickly sputtered out when they realized their latest time-jump created an entirely new timeline.
In the new timeline, the original Umbrella Academy no longer existed, and in its place stood The Sparrow Academy. Led by the evil version of their previously-dead brother, Ben, The Sparrow Academy didn’t welcome the Hargreeves with open arms. In a recent teaser, fans got a closer look at the members of The Sparrow Academy. It looked as though the two groups were about to get into a brawl.
From what viewers have seen of The Sparrow Academy, it seems they might serve as the antagonists in The Umbrella Academy Season 3. A recently released synopsis for the upcoming season hints that the Hargreeves may need the Sparrows’ help to avert whatever disaster is heading their way.

The full-length synopsis for The Umbrella Academy Season 3 reads, “After putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday, the Umbrella Academy returns home to the present, convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize things aren’t exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them.”
The synopsis continues, “Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns. Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (something they may have caused) — now all they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong. Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?”
Exactly what evil forces the members of The Umbrella Academy are up against remain to be seen. However, it looks like they won’t be able to defeat them alone.
The upcoming season will stray from the original source material
The Umbrella Academy Seasons 1 and 2 followed the events that occur in the graphic novels. However, showrunner Steve Blackman switched things up for The Umbrella Academy Season 3. Some details hint Blackman may incorporate a few elements from the comics. However, most of the story runs adjacent to what happens in the graphic novels.
The Umbrella Academy Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.
