Meghan McCain made an exit from The View at the end of season 24. With season 25 underway, there’s no full replacement for the Republican pundit yet. However, ABC has been inviting guest co-hosts to take the conservative view and Meghan’s mother Cindy McCain made an appearance. During her time on the talk show she gave Meghan’s former co-hosts an update on what she’s been up to since leaving.

After revealing that Cindy was nominated for an ambassadorship by President Joe Biden, Whoopi Goldberg cut to the chase and asked her for an update on their former co-host and baby Liberty.

“They’re wonderful, they’re just adorable,” Cindy said. “I was just at [grandaughter’s] first birthday last week.”

The View showed the cutest photo of Liberty on the screen and the co-hosts couldn’t with the overload of cuteness.

“She’s just precious and Meghan is loving being a mom, she’s just suited for it, it’s wonderful,” Cindy added.

‘The View’ fans support Cindy McCain

After The View shared the clip of Cindy on the show, the outpour of support for the Republican star came in. Many viewers believed she would be a good addition to the cast and gave their take on her daughter as well.

“Keep bringing Cindy back! She’s a lovely guest co-host,” a viewer said.

“So glad to see Cindy McCain and her sharing of the beautiful granddaughter!!!!!! Thanks, Cindy for your contributions to our country,” a fan added.

“Cindy is so delightful compared to her rude angry daughter. I hope they bring her back more often,” a YouTube user commented.

“It’s hard to believe that there’s a sane McCain again,” another viewer said.

“Tho, I’m not a big fan of Meghan, I do like her mother Mrs. McCain. I think she’d be a good fit for ambassador,” another fan commented.

“This McCain should be the one on the show not the other,” another YouTube user mentioned.

Meghan McCain’s last day on ‘The View’

It came as a surprise to everyone when at the beginning of July 2021, Meghan announced she was leaving the show. She told her fellow co-hosts and the audience that she would be stepping off The View at the end of season 24.

In her announcement, McCain said that “It is a privilege to work alongside such strong, brilliant, intelligent, incredible broadcasters.”

“You are the most talented women on all of television, hands-down, and it has been so incredible to be able to do this with you,” she also said.

Since leaving The View, McCain started a column for a tabloid website and has also been working on a movie with Lifetime where she is to executive produce.

The View airs weekday mornings at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT on ABC.
