What made Joy Behar and Meghan McCain clash?

On the second day of McCain’s return, things heated up during a discussion between the Republican and Democrat Party. The hardcore conservative was not going to let Behar say that Trump’s party was in “much more trouble.” John McCain’s daughter got fired up and interrupted Behar mid-sentence to get her opinion heard.

“Are you kidding me?” McCain interrupted Behar and going on a rant dismissing the latter.

Behar, as the veteran of The View, interrupted McCain as she was taking away from her time saying, “Excuse me, I’m not done.”

McCain then sarcastically says, “Joy you missed me so much when I was on maternity leave. You missed fighting with me.”

However, Behar didn’t pick up McCain’s sarcasm over the Zoom conference call and said something that agitated the latter even more.

“I did not. I did not miss you. Zero,” Behar replied as Whoopi Goldberg tried to jump in and break up the feud.

“You know what? That’s so nasty,” McCain said after Behar’s zing. “That’s like so nasty, I was teasing. Like really? That is so rude.”

Meghan McCain reflects on returning to ‘The View’

After an intense week on The View, McCain reflected on her time on the show, despite the controversial debates with her fellow co-hosts.

“Grateful for my job at The View and the privilege to (try and) speak on behalf of conservatives in America,” McCain tweeted. “That being said – what a week to return from my bliss bubble of maternity leave. Going to do nothing but cuddle Liberty all weekend and count my blessings.”

Whoopi Goldberg shuts Meghan McCain down

During the first full week of 2021, there was another incident involving McCain. This time, Whoopi Goldberg was in the middle of things. When Senator-elect Reverend Raphael Warnock was a guest during the first segment of the show, McCain tried to grill him on a question about “packing the courts.”

Warnock’s answer was not to McCain’s satisfaction as he assured her the people of Georgia were more concerned about health care and job security. As time was running out, McCain continued to get an answer from him but Whoopi intervened to go to commercial break.

“Hey! Listen! We are going to say thanks to the Senator-elect Reverend Raphael Warnock,” Whoopi said as the show’s music plays out to commercial break and she shakes her head.

At the end of the episode, executive producer Brian Teta came in to offer an explanation.

“What happened at the end of Act 1 and the start of Act 1, we didn’t have the Senator-elect at the beginning of the show, which threw everything off, time was very long,” Teta explained. “At the end of the act I was yelling and several other people were yelling in Whoopi’s ear, ‘We have to go to break.’ No issue here, no drama here, just our fault.”
