Meghan McCain of The View recently became a mother and is enjoying her precious time with her baby. The conservative co-host has been learning a lot about little Liberty Sage in the past few days. Being a strong woman that can multi-task, McCain has not forgotten it’s an election year and continues to have a pulse on politics. After she tweeted a political message about the debates, she was called out, but she’s not here for the drama.

What was the Twitter exchange about?

McCain continues to be heavily involved in what’s happening with the presidential elections as we’re less than a month away from voting. The Republican pundit reacted to news that the Commission on Presidential Debates had cancelled the Oct. 15 encounter between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

“I know the first debate was a total sh** show but we genuinely still have questions that the American public deserved to have answered by both of these candidates,” McCain tweeted. “This hurts all of us. It hurts democracy and it’s a real missed opportunity to be robbed of a Presidential debate.”

Matthew Dowd, a political analyst for ABC News (the same network that employs McCain), noticed her tweet and corrected it with the “truth.”

“Let’s say the truth,” Dowd tweeted. “The debate commission wanted to hold it, and Biden agreed, Trump wouldn’t do it remotely in midst of pandemic and he as a spreader. We need to say who is responsible.”

McCain saw the response and added, “I gave birth 12 days ago and am really, really not here for any Twitter drama Matt.”

Meghan McCain shares her motherhood experience

In happier news, McCain is enjoying motherhood. Although she decided to not share too many details about her pregnancy, she has opened up to fans about her initial experience as a mother.

“Motherhood is euphoria,” McCain wrote along with a picture of a necklace that said “mama.” “All of the cliches have come true and exceeded well beyond my wildest expectations — it is hands down the best thing I have ever done in my entire life and I am completely in awe of our daughter.”

McCain also shared details about her baby’s personality and she sounds like such a joy.

“Having Liberty is like observing my entire heart life and exist outside of my body,” she continued. “She is a little wildcat — beautiful, strong, alert, already so full [of] life and spirit… I only wish I had done this sooner.”

Meghan McCain talks about her late father

The political analyst made a reference to her father, the late Senator John McCain.

“I love our little family and I have never felt so blessed, present and grateful. This is the first time since my Dad passed that the part of my heart that broke off and left with him no longer feels missing,” she added.

“Thank you to all who have respected my protectiveness, boundaries, and privacy during pregnancy and now first steps into motherhood,” McCain explained. “I know it is unorthodox given the public life I have chosen. It’s all a work in progress and I will continue to share what I can as I (and Ben) are comfortable. And thank you for all the incredible words, blessing, and kindness that have been extended to all of us, I am beyond grateful and humbled.”
