Meghan McCain of The View has never been shy about expressing her love for The Real Housewives. The conservative co-host is a die-hard fan and took time on the ABC talk show to talk about her latest obsession. McCain was invested, just like all Bravo fans, in the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Stripper-gate was at the center of the drama and McCain urged fans to watch for escapism from reality.

What did Meghan McCain say about ‘RHOA’ Season 13?

The latest episode of RHOA featured the events that all fans had been waiting for. As the peaches were filming season 13, it was leaked that some funny business went down in South Carolina, where the cast filmed over a weekend. Kandi Burruss organized a bachelorette party for Cynthia Bailey and things went down.

Bolo, the exotic dancer, got the girls all hot and bothered and risqué things happened when cameras were asked to shut down. The allegations were that some of the cast members got intimate with the entertainer and “Stripper-Gate” was born.

As the ladies of The View discussed TV shows that allowed them to escape the reality of life, McCain was quick to suggest people watch RHOA.

“I think everyone knows I’m a Real Housewives superfan and if you want some good escapism, The Real Housewives of Atlanta… the night before last, had this incredible episode where some of the cast members slept with a male stripper,” she said. “Kandi Burruss threw this incredible bachelorette party. And it’s some of the most compelling reality television I’ve ever seen in my life.”

McCain was grateful that RHOA exists on television right now as it has allowed her to get enthralled with something different.

“I personally want to thank The Real Housewives of Atlanta for continuing to give me something to talk about and escape during this time. Even though all the franchises are really good right now, but that episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta… Andy Cohen… nailing it as usual,” she added.

Why were cameras shut off during Stripper-Gate?

If there’s a reason Stripper-Gate happened, it was because cameras were shut off. Burruss and the rest of the ladies asked the RHOA production to take out all of the recording devices so they could really enjoy the bachelorette party.

“Hopefully, we can get you guys to turn off the cameras for a little while so that we can actually have fun,” Burruss is heard saying.

On the RHOA: After Show, Kenya Moore explained that some of the ladies wanted a real private show with the stripper.

“I’m not sure why the cameras needed to be turned off because if you’re just watching a show, you’re watching a show, you’re not really doing anything. If you’re at a strip club, everyone can see what you’re doing,” Moore said.

Porsha Williams explained that she wanted to really see what Bolo was working with, something that he wouldn’t show in front of the cameras.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
