Whoopi Goldberg has never been one to hold back her opinions and landing a co-hosting spot on The View hasn’t changed the actor’s penchant for speaking her mind. In recent times, she’s told Meghan McCain to “stop talking”, denounced celebrities for taking nude photos that would inevitably leak to the public, and more. Once she even had a very frank discussion about pubic hair that left the audience shocked.

Back in 2011, Goldberg got into a very frank discussion about porn on The View. While she shared that she liked it, she also revealed that she didn’t know why people felt compelled to watch it on their computer rather than on TV. Furthermore, she expressed discontent with some female porn stars’ decisions to wax their pubic area completely bare.

Whoopi Goldberg and ‘The View’ cast once had a very frank discussion about pornography

“I like porn, I think porn is good for — yes, I do. I think it’s good,” Goldberg shared with her co-stars while on The View. She also expressed her sentiments on pubic hair. “I will tell you what bothers the hell out of me, because this is something that I should have watched over the years. When you see where porn stars are– the women, what their pudendas look like, you can track what other women are going to be doing.”

Continuing on, Goldberg shared that she felt the bare look was problematic. “There used to be a time when a woman’s pudenda — they looked like women,” The View star shared. “Then suddenly it became like a landing strip, and then it became bald, and I’m saying what’s wrong with that is they made it what a young girl’s pudenda looks like…it’s bad because I understand you want to do some grooming, but to make yourself look like you did when you were 12 or 13 sends a message to people that you want a kid’s body.”

Goldberg once shocked Keanu Reeves with a discussion about pubic hair

Clearly, Goldberg had some very strong opinions about pubic hair in porn. And while The View audience seemed a bit taken aback by the Cinderella alum’s viewpoints, this wouldn’t be the last time that she would speak openly about pubic hair. Just a few years later she got into a very frank discussion about pubic hair with fellow actor, Keanu Reeves.

In 2017, Reeves and Goldberg were guests on The Graham Norton Show and The View host was promoting a new show. “It’s about waking up and realizing you’re not the youngest thing in the room anymore but all the things that that entails … because everything’s on the floor, you’re picking it up, you’re putting it on your head. It’s a whole thing.”

‘The View’ co-host shouldn’t have issues with what other women do with their bodies

Continuing on, she told a shocked Reeves that one of the most surprising things about getting older was losing her pubic hair.”Once where there was an afro, where I could put beads on and braid, there is now Paul Shaffer’s head,” Goldberg declared, referencing a bald Canadian singer. Clearly, Goldberg is willing to discuss more taboo subjects whether she’s on The View or not. However, what other women choose to do with their bodies isn’t really any of her business.
