‘The Voice’ Promo Shows Blake Shelton’s Creepy Obsession With Nick Jonas and Season 18 Premiere Date
The new season of The Voice is almost here. Season 18 will have Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Nick Jonas form teams and compete against each other.
A new promo jokes about Shelton’s true feelings about the Jonas Brothers member. Find out what it showed and the premiere date of the new season.
Blake Shelton previously teased Nick Jonas for his age
Jonas announced he will be the new judge on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton made videos to send him a message.
“Nick Jonas! How you doin’, buddy? I heard that you’re going to be a new coach on The Voice and I wanted to say congratulations I guess,” Shelton said. “I’m going to have to look through the rules because this is my TV show,” he joked. “I’m not even sure if you’re old enough to be a coach on The Voice, but I’m certain that you’re going to get your butt kicked, buddy.”
Clarkson and Legend had nicer messages for him. “Our mission is to destroy Blake Shelton. We have to form an alliance. Me, you, Kelly,” Legend told him.
It seemed like the country star will adjust to not having Gwen Stefani on the show by giving the new coach a hard time. “I’m gonna take [Gwen leaving] out on Nick Jonas,” he joked with Extra. “I mean, it’s not his fault. But I’m not happy about it and he’s gonna be sitting there, the new guy. So I’m gonna bully him a little bit, to be honest with you.”
Kevin and Joe Jonas will help Nick’s team
There is good news for Jonas Brothers fans! The new coach’s brothers will appear this season to be advisors for his team.
“Well it’s that time to tell you exactly who my advisors are, my mentors are for my team. These two guys are some of the most trusted people in my life. It’s Hall & Oates. Just kidding it’s Kevin and Joe Jonas!” Nick said in a video that was posted on Twitter.
Kevin and Joe are then seen in the video. “These guys are my brothers, my bandmates, my best friends. And they’re going to help me take Team Nick to the next level,” he said.
A new promo shows Shelton is obsessed with Nick
A new promo was released on Jan. 27 to tease the new season. Legend catches Shelton outside of his dressing room.
“Did you say hi to Nick yet?” Legend asked Shelton. “Nick who?” the country singer asked back. “Nick Jonas, Jonas Brothers, he’s our new coach. Look, we were together last night,” Legend then shows a picture of him hanging out behind Jonas on a red carpet.
Clarkson then shows up wearing a shirt with Jonas’ face on it. Shelton still claims he doesn’t know who the singer is before Legend notices that his entire dressing room is covered with posters of him. Jonas then joins them and Shelton is completely thrown off his game.
Fans will have to wait and see how Shelton will actually treat Jonas this season. The new season will premiere on Feb. 24.
