The coaches of The Voice love to tease each other and that’s continuing with Ariana Grande as a new coach. She has joined the fun by teasing Kelly Clarkson for how she talks. The coaches have made a new game because Clarkson really likes to use this one word.

Kelly Clarkson is back to fighting over artists on ‘The Voice’

Clarkson is back for another season and she isn’t afraid to fight for talented artists. One person that often stands in her way is Blake Shelton. The country singer has the most wins on The Voice and he doesn’t go easy on other coaches.

Clarkson and Shelton turned their chairs for country singer Lana Scott who sang Kelsea Ballerini’s “Hole in the Bottle.” It didn’t take long for them to turn on each other.

Shelton claimed Clarkson wouldn’t know the song, but Clarkson reminded him she toured with Ballerini. He told Scott that she has that “whiny” country tone, but Clarkson said she wouldn’t call it that.

“People who don’t understand country music don’t understand how awesome that is,” Shelton said. Clarkson said she’s from Texas and grew up on country music.

This fight for Scott took so long that Ariana Grande and John Legend left their chairs and came back. In the end, Scott picked Shelton as her coach. Of course, this isn’t the last pitch they would have to make as coaches for the season.

The coaches start a drinking game because Kelly Clarkson likes this 1 word

The Voice coaches tend to rely on the same old tricks to win over artists. Shelton likes to lie and name-drop his country knowledge. Sometimes Legend likes to remind people that he’s an EGOT winner. But Clarkson really likes to use a specific word, “navigate.”

The other coaches have noticed this and started a drinking game where they’ll clink their mugs every time she says it. “Blake and Ariana have decided that Kelly says ‘navigate’ a lot,” Legend explained in a clip shared with Entertainment Tonight. “They’ve started a little ‘clinking game.” The singer added, “I think Kelly’s trying to ‘navigate’ her way into a thesaurus.”

She responded to the other coaches once they called her out. “That’s the word you use!” Clarkson said. “Like what is the other word? Fine, I’ll look up some synonyms for ‘navigate.’”

Grande admitted she says navigate too. But it looks like the coaches still have fun teasing Clarkson.

This week is the final week of blind auditions. The Voice fans will have to watch to see how the coaches will complete their teams and if the coaches will “clink” their mugs more because of Clarkson’s use of “navigating.”
