Team Blake

Wendy Moten kicked off Fan Week with a performance of Aretha Franklin’s “Freeway of Love.” It’s Wendy’s birthday, and she couldn’t wait to turn up the energy with this tune. Ariana told Wendy that she sang a “humongous” song, while John called her tone and technique “beautiful.” Meanwhile, Blake said Wendy has already reached “icon” status and has the potential to become a big star.

The Voice Season 21 Episode 19 continued with Lana Scott. The fans picked Gabby Barrett’s “Hope He Cheats” — a change from Lana’s usual classic country tunes. Ariana called Lana a “perfectly packaged and ready to go” pop star, and Blake said this was her best performance yet.

Paris Winningham felt incredibly grateful to fans for bringing him this far. They chose Bill Withers’ “Use Me” for Paris this week, and he delivered a smooth, jazzy performance. John said he put soul and power into the rendition. Blake recognized the ease in Paris’s voice and the control he had over the room.

Team Kelly

Girl Named Tom’s fans chose Ingrid Andress’ “More Hearts Than Mine” for the trio’s performance. In rehearsal, Kelly encouraged the singers to showcase some a capella moments. Blake said Girl Named Tom’s rendition “felt like home.” Then, Kelly applauded the group for their ability to pick up a song they’d never experienced before so quickly.

Jeremy Rosado took to the stage with a worship song, Cory Asbury’s “Reckless Love.” Kelly told the singer to build up his vocals until the chorus. John told Jeremy that he seemed “in his element” and complimented his passionate performance. Kelly said this performance acted as a gateway to more Christian music for Jeremy, which was where he wanted to take his career.

After performing for an Instant Save last week, Gymani was ready to wow the coaches. The fans chose Rihanna’s “Diamonds”; Kelly had Gymani slow the tune down to showcase her softer side. The singer received a standing ovation from Kelly, Ariana, Blake, and John. Kelly said she felt like she was at Gymani’s concert and complimented her “technical” talent.

Team Kelly’s Hailey Mia quickly became a fan favorite on The Voice. She closed out the team’s performances with a slow and smooth rendition of Sia’s “Elastic Heart.” In rehearsal, Kelly said the 14-year-old artist took listeners “on a ride” with her powerful voice. All four coaches jumped to their feet, and Hailey nearly brought Kelly to tears for the second week in a row. Kelly called the artist a “dark horse” and complimented her charisma.

Team Ariana

Holly Forbes opened for Team Ariana with “Alone” by Heart. Ariana knew the tune would showcase her high notes, so she encouraged the singer to focus on her breathing. When Holly took to the stage, she delivered a powerful rock performance that brought Kelly and Ariana to her feet. John loved Holly’s power and passion, noting that he could “feel her heart.” Blake knew from the start that she would “kill it,” and Ariana agreed. She commended the singer for pulling out surprises every single week.

Jim and Sasha Allen promised to blow their fans away with a performance of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” by Credence Clearwater Revival. In rehearsal, Ariana called it a “spectacular” choice. Ariana jumped to her feet as Jim brought out a harmonica. Blake said the duo sounded “incredible,” while Ariana called Jim a “musical genius.” Is there any instrument he can’t play?

Team Legend

Jershika Maple kicked off Team Legend’s performances with Lisa Fischer’s “How Can I Ease the Pain.” John wanted the singer to incorporate her personality into the tune. Kelly said Jershika’s vocal runs were “cool as hell,” while Blake simply said Jershika made him happy. Finally, John added that Jershika showcased her “true self.”

Joshua Vacanti said he felt “on top of the world” as he entered his Top 11 rehearsal. He sang Queen’s “The Show Must Go On,” a perfect choice for his Broadway style. Kelly insisted that someone create a Broadway show for Joshua to star in. Meanwhile, Blake commended the song choice and said he “slayed it.” John said he knew Joshua could handle a Queen tune, which not many singers can do.
