Season 1 of the show came out in December 2020 and fans loved it

The Wilds Season 1 came out on Dec. 11, 2020. The show instantly drew in Lost comparisons but also cultivated a cult following for its relatability for teen girls and adult women. The show explored sexuality, relationship grooming, and high pressures that people in their teens and adulthood face today.

The Amazon Prime show displayed how people behave under immense pressure, and how they might cope with a fight-or-flight living situation. The Wilds used flashbacks to give viewers insight on characters before they were stuck on an island together.

Season 1 ended with many questions. Luckily, viewers quickly received the news that The Wilds would get a season 2. And now, the actors are currently filming the next season, and fans have behind-the-scenes footage from the production.

‘The Wilds’ released behind-the-scenes footage from season 2

The Wilds‘ Instagram and Twitter accounts shared a video of the cast on season 2 of the show on April 27. The clip began with the actors saying they were so “excited” and “we’re back!”

The video showed the actors on set, including Mia Healey as Shelby Goodkind and Erana James as Toni Shalifoe. Healey and James received much fan love following season 1 due to their characters’ exploration of their relationship. The actors leaned on each other in the behind-the-scenes video, showing a cute moment between them.

Prior to the newest video, Amazon Prime had shared a picture on set on April 25, two days beforehand. The photo was a behind-the-scenes look at the season 2 production.

“Sunsets on set hit different,” the platform captioned the image.

There have been many fan theories about where The Wilds could take storylines in season 2. One of the strongest ones includes an Easter egg from season 1. This one theorized that there might be a similar island experience for teen boys explored in season 2.

But fans definitely want certain questions answered and plot lines filled in. People have been wondering if Shelby planned her allergy attack as a distraction. They also want to know the blanks between the girls being on the island and how they ended up in the facility. They’re also curious if the supposed spy among them felt guilty enough about their actions to become a double agent, since viewers haven’t seen her in the present day yet.

Hopefully, those questions and more will be answered in The Wilds Season 2. We’ll be on the edge of our seats — and probably rewatching season 1 — until then.
