‘The Young and the Restless’: Ashley Abbott Was Engaged to This ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Hunk
Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is a prominent character in The Young and the Restless history. As a member of the Abbott family, Ashley’s life is often a focal point of the show. Although Genoa City is her home, Ashley’s lived in other places, including Los Angeles. During Ashely’s time in California, she mingled with several The Bold and the Beautiful characters and almost married this leading man.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Ashley Abbott dated Ridge Forrester
There have been lots of crossovers between The Young and the Restless and its sister soap. Characters such as Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful. In 2007, Ashley made her arrival in town as the new fragrance designer for Forrester Creations.
Ashley’s job had her working closely with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), whom she fell in love with. Ridge’s mother, Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), encourages the relationship, believing Ashley was the perfect woman. After several months of dating, Ridge and Ashley became engaged.
However, their relationship is complicated by Ridge’s ex Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). Ashley and Brooke have a tense rivalry over Ridge. But in the end, Ridge breaks off his engagement with Ashley to reunite with Brooke.
Ridge Forrester isn’t the only ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ man she was with
During Ashley’s time on The Bold and the Beautiful, she dated a few other men. Upon arriving in town, it’s revealed she and Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) were former lovers, with their affair beginning in Paris. With Rick in a relationship with Phoebe Forrester (MacKenzie Mauzy), he wants to keep his past with Ashley a secret. However, Rick and Ashley sleep together, which causes his breakup with Phoebe.
After her failed romances with Rick and Ridge, Ashley begins dating Storm Logan (William deVry). However, she breaks up with him after learning he shot Stephanie. Storm tries to explain his actions to Ashley, but in the process, he accidentally shoots his sister Katie Logan (Heather Tom). Storm then killed himself, and his heart was donated to Katie, who needed a transplant to survive.
After Storm’s death, Ashley leaves town and eventually moves back to Genoa City.
Ashley Abbott’s romantic history on ‘The Young and the Restless’
Whether she’s on The Young and the Restless or another soap opera, the drama follows Ashley everywhere. Since 1982, the Jabot chemist has dealt with turmoil in her personal life. Her most notable romances were with Victor and Brad Carlton (Don Diamont).
Ashley and Victor will always be connected via their daughter Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). As for if the exes will ever get back together, that remains to be seen. In a 2016 interview with Michael Fairman TV, Davidson shared her thoughts on an Ashley and Victor reunion.
“I’m always open for a good storyline, but I don’t know. They have tried it, and they have been there and done that. But again, it depends on how everything is written.”
