‘The Young and the Restless’: Characters Who Could Be Leaving Soon
The Young and the Restless is famous for creating iconic characters. There are prominent players, from veterans like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to newcomers Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines). The show has a huge cast, but it may decrease with these characters possibly leaving.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Ashland Locke is a character who’s days could be numbered
One of The Young and the Restless character who could be saying goodbye to Genoa City soon is Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). The suave but conning businessman’s world is imploding thanks to his father-in-law. Ashland already has a seedy past, including identity theft and forging a will. Yet, his past crimes didn’t deter Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) from marrying him.
However, Victoria will regret that decision after learning Ashland lied about dying. With Ashland’s scheme exposed, he’s in a bitter feud with the Newmans to control their companies. Ashland’s confident he’s come out on top; however, he’s made many enemies and is bound to slip up.
Ashland’s exit from Genoa City will come in two ways. One theory is he’ll go to prison because of his crimes. The other is he’ll leave in a body bag as the victim of a murder mystery.
Elena Dawson doesn’t have a storyline
The Young and the Restless character Elena Dawson’s (Brytni Sarpy) 2019 debut started promising. The nurse became Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) new girlfriend. Elena and Devon quickly became a favorite couple as she helped him move on from Hilary Curtis’ (Mishael Morgan) death.
Yet, the writers broke them up when Elena cheated on him with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). After their split, Devon began a relationship with Amanda Sinclair (Morgan), and Elena started dating Nate. Since then, Elena hasn’t been seen often onscreen, and her relationship with Nate is deemed boring by fans.
Sarpy is a talented actor, yet the writers can’t develop a proper story for her character. With no creative direction for Elena, it wouldn’t be surprising if she left.
Noah Newman could be leaving again
Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) returned to The Young and the Restless in October 2019. Fans were ecstatic to see Nick and Sharon Newman’s (Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case) son back in town. Yet, the excitement diminished with his current storyline.
Noah’s been sulking over his ex-girlfriend Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), who is marrying his sister Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). On Twitter, fans have been voicing their disappointment over Noah’s storyline. “You recast a legacy character, and THIS is the best you can do with him?” asked one viewer.
The addition of Allie (Kelsey Wang) as Noah’s new love interest may liven up the character. If not, Noah may be saying goodbye to Genoa City again.
