‘The Young and the Restless’: Courtney Hope Receives Marriage Advice From Co-Stars
The Young and the Restless character Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) has terrible luck in the romance department. Whether she’s in Los Angeles or Genoa City, Sally can’t catch a break when it comes to love. However, for her portrayer, that’s no problem. Hope is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, General Hospital actor Chad Duell. With their wedding on the horizon, Hope is seeking advice from her co-workers.

Any bride-to-be is nervous before their big day. Luckily Hope has her close-knit The Young and the Restless family for support. Recently, Hope’s sought out marital advice from her castmates. However, there’s a catch. The suggestions were from their character’s point of view.
Several The Young and the Restless actors reflected on their character’s past weddings in the hilarious two-minute video. Peter Bergman suggested “don’t let your family be any part of this” and “make your own decisions.” Amelia Heinle, whose character recently became a bride, had a funny tip of “marrying a man that isn’t going to be around for very long, especially if he has a lot of money.”
Michelle Stafford, who plays Sally’s nemesis Phyllis Summers jokingly told Hope, “don’t do it.” Stafford then shouted how her love for Duell and gave a thumbs-up, signaling her approval of nuptials.
Courtney Hope and Chad Duell’s road to marriage
Hope and Duell are one of the soap opera community’s cutest couples. The pair always post social media photos of their trips to Disneyland and home life with their dogs. If it wasn’t for their mutual friend and former General Hospital actor Bryan Craig, Hope and Duell might not be together.
In a 2018 interview with Soaps In Depth, they revealed how they met at one of Craig’s parties. The pair hit it off and discovered they had a lot in common. However, Duell was nervous about pursuing a relationship. “I wanted to hand out with her, but part of me knew I would end up dating her. I guess I was scared,” Duell explained.
Luckily, Duell took a chance, and the two began dating. As with any couple, marriage is a topic of conversation. For Hope and Duell, it was essential to take their time. “If we’re going to spend the rest of our lives together, why rush it?” After more than five years of dating, Duell proposed in February 2021 during a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway.

While Hope’s found her Mr. Right, her character Sally is still searching. Sally’s heartbreak started way back on The Bold and the Beautiful. Her romances with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) ended when they dumped her for other women.
Upon arriving in Genoa City, Sally quickly sunk her hooks into Jack Abbott (Bergman). However, it’s unclear whether Sally loved Jack or was using him to advance her career. Sally’s scheming against Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) lead to splitsville with her and Jack. However, Sally hasn’t wasted any time in moving on. She’s currently involved with her boss Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Although Adam maintained he and Sally are nothing more than business associates, the two can’t seem to keep their hands off each other.
