‘The Young and the Restless’: Phyllis and Abby’s Feuding is Annoying Fans
The Young and the Restless are one of the most popular soap operas of today’s day and age. However, some fans and viewers may be surprised to learn that the show first launched all the way back in 1973. The series takes place in Genoa City. Eric Braeden, Melody Thomas Scott, and Sharon Case are some of the talented individuals that make up the talented and beloved cast.
However, it doesn’t seem like all the characters are receiving the same amount of love at the moment. Take a look back at Phyllis and Abby’s journey on The Young and the Restless, and find out how fans and viewers are feeling about their storyline.
Who is Phyllis on the CBS network’s show ‘The Young and the Restless’?
Phyllis’ character was officially introduced on The Young and the Restless in 1994. As soon as Phyllis’ arrived in Genoa City she immediately got to business, so to speak. After drugging Danny Romalotti she tried to convince and manipulate him into believing he was actually the father of her child. This was all part of her plan to try to get Danny to leave his wife at the time, Christine Blair. When things didn’t go Phyllis’ way she took matters into her own hands and ran Christine down with a car. Eventually, after several failed relationships, Phyllis leaves town.
However, she, of course, did return, and upon her return to the series, she found herself being framed for arson and attempted murder. In the meanwhile, Phyllis finds herself mixed up in the drama between Brad Carlton, Sharon Newman, and Drucilla Winters, and becomes involved in Drucilla’s tragic death off the side of a cliff. It is safe to say that Phyllis is quite the handful. Over the years, Michelle Stafford, Sandra Nelson, and Gina Tognoni have been the actors to take on her infamous role, according to IMDb.
What is Abby best known for on the popular soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless’?
For most of Abby’s life she though Brad Carlton was her father. When Brad and his daughters unexpectedly die, Abby inherited all of Brad’s estates. However, Abby also learned that Brad isn’t her father at all. She accidentally overheard from her mother, Ashley Abbott, that Ashley wasn’t honest about the sperm and Victor Newman is actually the father. Abby’s whole life changes when she hears her mother say this.
Abby’s complicated past may be the reason she has such a troubled journey on the series. From filming a sex tape for a reality television series pitch to riding a horse completely nude around town, there doesn’t seem to be anything that Abby won’t do, and includes a little feuding.
How did the feud between Phyllis and Abby on ‘The Young and the Restless’ first begin and what are fans saying about it now?
It goes without saying that Phyllis and Abby are both very bold characters on The Young and the Restless. Loyal fans and viewers have probably picked up on the drawn out storyline that has been taking place between Phyllis and Abby, but where exactly did it begin, and what is happening now?
Though it is hard to pinpoint when the tension between the pair first began, it is easy to tell that things are still not going well. It seems like things took a turn for the worse when Abby acquired the Grand Phoenix Hotel. Originally, Abby and Phyllis had a business plan to go into on this together. However, at the last minute, Abby cut Chelsea into the deal leaving Phyllis in the dark.
When the hotel opened up, all the drinks at the party were drugged, and conveniently enough, Phyllis claimed to have the information on the culprit but at a price. As a result, Abby allowed Phyllis to be part of the business plan for the hotel, but things between the pair were definitely not squashed. In trying to blackmail Abby for fraud and thievery, she became exposed for hiding stolen jewels in Phyllis’ purse.
Messy and boring are just two words to describe this storyline. Fans and viewers of The Young and the Restless have been reaching out on Twitter begging the show to put an end to the storyline. Other people have been speculating that the writers simply do not know what to do with either of them and it is just plain old annoying. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for both of them on The Young and the Restless.
