When Gina Tognoni was still in the role of Phyllis, viewers called for Hope to be cast as Phyllis’ relative. Although Stafford is now back in her iconic role, speculation continues to run rampant that the two women are related.
On a Reddit thread, fans discussed the possibility of Phyllis and Sally being mother and daughter. “I think they will make Sally her daughter. It would make for a great storyline, and Summer will flip,” wrote one user. Other commenters chimed in with the same sentiments. “This has been my theory as well. Especially considering Sally’s abandonment as a child.”

Sally was raised by Shirley Spectra (Patrika Darbo) and has a younger sister Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck). However, little is known about Sally’s parents.
As for Phyllis, although she’s been a central part of the show for 27 years, her past before Genoa City is unknown. In 2013, The Young and the Restless fans got a glimpse into Phyllis’ family history.
