‘The Young and the Restless’ star Joshua Morrow wants to see Nick Newman and Avery Bailey Clark reunite

Nick’s had many love interests in The Young and the Restless. His most popular pairings are his ex-wives, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Shick and Phick fans have a longstanding war in debating who is the right woman for Nick.

Nick’s reunited with Sharon and Phyllis several times, yet there’s one woman Morrow would love to see come back for Nick. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Morrow says he’d love to see round two in Nick’s relationship with Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins).

“That relationship was really trending in a great direction. Nick really wanted to be with her, and I wish they would bring Avery back to inject some energy into that part of his life,” he explained.

Nick Newman and Avery Bailey Clark’s relationship history

Avery comes to Genoa City in July 2011 to represent Nick’s ex-wife Sharon in a murder trial. Avery got the charges against Sharon dropped, then became Genoa City’s new resident lawyer. Before long, tidbits about Avery’s past were revealed, including her being Phyllis’ sister.

Avery and Phyllis had a strained relationship, which increased when Avery began dating Nick. Despite Phyllis’ objections, Nick and Avery’s romance heats up on The Young and the Restless. The couple becomes engaged; however, Avery’s ex-boyfriend Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) arrives in town.

Avery thought Dylan died in Afghanistan and was surprised to see him alive. Dylan’s arrival brings up old feelings in Avery, but she accepts Nick’s marriage proposal. On their wedding day, Avery arrives late after comforting Dylan, who learned Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) baby wasn’t his. When Avery finally arrives at the venue, the guests are gone, and Nick calls off the wedding, realizing she loves Dylan.

Will Avery Bailey Clark ever return to reunite with the Newman heir?

Soap opera fans live by the motto “never say never.” Avery left Genoa City in 2015, however, there’s a chance she could one day return to The Young and the Restless and reunite with Nick. But Navery fans shouldn’t expect a reunion anytime soon since the producers have no desire to recast Avery’s role.

Although Avery’s not coming back, Nick isn’t too broken-hearted. The Newman heir will be reuniting with another ex-lover, Sharon. For months, the writers have teased a reunion with Shick, and it’s slowly building up. With Sharon a widow after Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) death, Nick’s been by her side. Fans know before long that comfort will turn into love and the exes will give their relationship one more chance.
