Legendary singer Janet Jackson has had a career that has spanned nearly her entire life. Though she was initially known as the little sister to the infamous Jackson 5, a role on the hit series, Good Times and then her own legendary career propelled her to the global stage, allowing her to hold her own against her late brother, Michael Jackson.

Unlike many pop stars, the songstress has been able to evolve with the times. Though her 1982 debut alum, Janet Jackson didn’t exactly explode, her third album 1986’s Control made her a global sensation.

From there the majority of her following eight albums have been chart-toppers and she has also taken her talents backs to the big screen in film projects like, The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps and Tyler Perry’s What Did I Get Married? saga. The songstress’ personal life has been just as interesting as her music, and now, there appears to be a Janet Jackson biopic in the works.

Inside Janet Jackson’s legendary career

Jackson is one of the top-selling female recording artists in history and is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee with massive hits like, “That’s The Way Love Goes,” “Anytime, Any Place,” “If”  “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” and “The Pleasure Principle.”

As the tenth and youngest child in the Jackson family, the songstress had massive shoes to fill, and she did so with ease. However, instead of diving into singing right away, in the 1970s, she began her career as an actress before propelling into the recording industry in the early ’80s.

Currently, Jackson has her Black Diamond tour slated to begin in June 2020 along with a forthcoming album. However, it appears that that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic may postpone both.

There is a top-secret Janet Jackson biopic in the works

Fans were elated when The Jasmine Brand reported that there was a top-secret biopic about Jackson in the works. Though details are scarce at the moment, prior to the coronavirus outbreak, we know that the project was being finalized and that auditions were slatted to begin occurring.

There is no news yet if Jackson herself is involved in the movie. However, it does appear that the film’s production will officially be delayed until it’s safe to return to film sets.

Fans have suggestions on who should pay Janet Jackson

Though no casting announcements have been made just yet, it’s clear that whoever is cast as the legendary songstress will have to be youthful, a sensational dancer, and be able to carry every note of the most iconic songs in Jackson’s discography.

When talk show host Wendy Williams asked fans for suggestions about who should play the “Rhythm Nation” singer, they had many suggestions. Singers Ciara and Teyana Taylor, who have both talked about their love and admiration for Jackson, were top choices.

Also, Janelle Monae and Normani were two poignant suggestions. However, one fan had a brilliant idea. They suggested that an upcoming unknown actress step into the R&B sensation’s shoes and we would agree.
