These Are the Famous Men Kate Upton Dated Before Justin Verlander
Supermodel Kate Upton and Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander have been married since 2017, but before this power couple settled down together Upton was romantically linked to a few other famous men.
Here’s who the Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl was reportedly involved with before she and Verlander tied the knot.
Mark Sanchez
The Other Woman actress and former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez were reportedly seeing each other back in 2011.
According to a story published in the New York Post at the time, “[Sanchez] has been spotted several times at the voluptuous blonde’s pad since November, usually after games or before practices — sometimes as late as midnight — rolling up in his black chauffeur-driven Navigator.
“Sanchez was even seen in Upton’s building lobby carrying gifts for her after he attended a charity event early last month. On another occasion, Sanchez was spotted coming into the building with bags a minute or two after Upton arrived.”
Despite the claim, another source insisted that the two were nothing more than friends.
Blake Griffin
In 2013, Upton was spotted getting cozy with NBA player Blake Griffin.
E! News noted that the model and Griffin had dinner and drinks with some friends at Beauty & Essex in New York City.
The outlet reported that “the basketball star and Kate were cozying up to one another” and “were cuddling and holding hands.”
However, their reported fling ended as quickly as it began.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Also in 2013, Upton dated former Dancing With The Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
The two were said to set up by their friends and although they tried to keep their relationship under wraps for a while, they finally confirmed things when they took a stroll through the streets of NYC holding hands.
“She’s an amazing person,” Chmerkovskiy gushed to Us Weekly at the time. “We have an incredible time together, and, you know, I definitely didn’t see that coming and I think neither did she. We enjoy each other’s company very much and like I said, she’s a great girl that I never thought anything romantic like this could have happened.”
Their romance didn’t last though and reports surfaced six months later that they had called it quits.
A source close to Upton told the New York Daily News that “It was the distance. He travels and she travels, and it didn’t work out.”
The insider continued, “She liked him and brought him to meet her parents at a football game. She invited him to a lot of family things. She got serious about him quickly, and he thinks she’s a good person. It just didn’t work.”
In 2017, Chmerkovskiy married fellow ballroom dancing pro Peta Murgatroy.
