The popular social media platform TikTok has already kick-started a number of trends, launched careers, and created viral sensations. It’s also done a lot for the world of music, leading to record streaming numbers and millions of downloads. With around 1 billion active monthly users spending around eight hours per month on TikTok, there’s a lot of potential attention to be had by musicians on the platform.

The data analysts at AT&T Experts recently crunched the numbers to determine which songs are downloaded and searched for most frequently by TikTok users in every state in the U.S. Here are their findings, compiled in a comprehensive report at attexperts.com.

‘Drivers License’ by Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo’s smash hit “Drivers License” is the most-searched song on TikTok in the U.S. The hit single topped the charts in 12 states: Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, and Virginia.

‘Dreams’ by Fleetwood Mac

“Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac was originally released in 1977 – the same year the album shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart – but the song is having a resurgence on TikTok. Overall, “Dreams” is the song TikTok users search for second-most in the U.S.

It’s also the most popular song on TikTok in eight U.S. states: Alabama, Arizona, Washington D.C., Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

‘Roxanne’ by Arizona Zervas

Arizona Zervas’s song “Roxanne” became a viral hit in 2019, gaining popularity on Spotify. It’s still a sensation on TikTok, with a monthly search volume of 6,600. It tops the TikTok charts in four states: Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and West Virginia.

‘Heather’ by Conan Gray

“Heather,” the moody, contemplative hit by singer/songwriter Conan Gray, has an impressive monthly search volume of 18,100 on TikTok. It’s most popular in Alaska, Nevada, and Vermont.

‘Freak’ by Doja Cat

Doja Cat’s “Freak” was initially released in 2018 and later enjoyed renewed popularity in 2020, mostly due to success on TikTok. It’s the most-searched song on TikTok in Connecticut.

‘Play Date’ by Melanie Martinez

Melanie Martinez’s “Play Date” was first released as part of the deluxe edition of her 2015 album Cry Baby. But after it was used in a TikTok edit of Timothée Chalamet, the song went viral, earning a monthly search volume of 12,100. It’s the most popular song on the platform in Rhode Island.

‘Money Trees’ by Kendrick Lamar

With an monthly search volume of 6,600, Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 song “Money Trees” is the most popular song on TikTok in an impressive six states: California, Delaware, Florida, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington.

‘Blinding Lights’ by The Weeknd

The Weeknd’s record-breaking single “Blinding Lights” was the best-performing single worldwide in 2020, so it’s no wonder that it earned a spot on the list as the most-searched song for TikTok users in Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, and Wisconsin.

‘Lottery’ by K Camp

K Camp’s “Lottery,” or “Lottery (Renegade),” went viral on TikTok after a dance challenge in 2019. TikTok users in Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, and Pennsylvania still search for it most often.

‘The Box’ by Roddy Ricch

Roddy Ricch’s “The Box,” which was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards, has a monthly search volume of 33,100 on TikTok. It tops the most-searched list in Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Oklahoma.
