There’s no doubt that all the members of the Fab Five are beloved by Queer Eye fans, but is there one person that many viewers simply like the least? If so, who is that person? Read on below to find out the answer.
Who are the members of the Fab Five?
The Fab Five consists of five experts who are knowledgeable different fields: Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, Tan France, and Antoni Porowski.
Van Ness’ specialty is in hair and skincare. On the show, he is often fixing people’s hairstyles and giving them advice on how to improve their grooming routines.
Brown is a “culture” expert who teaches people how to makeover their romantic lives as well as become better versions of themselves emotionally.
Berk is the furniture and design expert. He usually does the job of re-designing people’s living spaces to make them more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.
France’s specialty is in fashion and he often helps people learn how to dress better while still being true to their original selves.
Finally, Porowski is a culinary expert. He is tasked with examining people’s diets and introducing them to healthier ways of eating.
Who do fans like the most in the Fab Five?
Many fans love all five of the Fab Five, though a lot of polls seem to show that Van Ness and France are the two top favorite cast members on the show.
Van Ness is well-liked for his quirky sense of humor and positive attitude. He is known for lifting up the mood in every scene by making jokes and sharing witty comments. “I feel as though he’s a compliment machine,” a user on Reddit.com shared. “He’s also super sweet, honest, funny, and smart.”
Meanwhile, France is also a fan-favorite for his endearing personality. He’s kind to every person the Fab Five interacts with and always seems to have many nice things to say. “I think he’s lovely and just so wholesome and sincere,” another commenter on Reddit.com noted.
Who do fans like the least in the Fab Five?
According to Ranker.com, the Queer Eye expert who is the least liked is none other than Porowski. While many fans seem to be in agreement on the fact that Porowski is very good-looking, a lot of viewers cannot understand why he is on the show as a “culinary expert.”
Unlike the other cast members who have shown how impressively skilled they are multiple times, Porowski has often just been seen making very simple recipes, such as guacamole and grilled cheese sandwiches. In fact, some people seem to believe that he cannot even cook at all. In Porowski’s defense, he has to keep his pupil’s culinary skill in mind when he teaches new dishes.
It’s true that Porowski is not a chef. He also does not have a degree from a culinary institute and has never worked in a restaurant before. It has been said that he is a self-taught cook. However, he has shown his qualifications by releasing a cookbook earlier this year. (Though, critics will say his book deal came from his Queer Eye fame.)
And in response to the negativity, Porowski once said to GQ: “It’s not a cooking show. It’s not about my skillset. It’s about figuring out how we can contribute to the lives of these people in a very short amount of time…If you just have these people start thinking differently about the food, I think then I’m happy with that. Then I feel like my job is done if that curiosity is there.”
