‘This Is Us’ Fans Are Begging for a Rebecca and Miguel Centered Episode ‘Right Freakin’ Now’
This Is Us Season 5 opened with a premiere full of current news references and controversial topics. Randall (Sterling K. Brown), Kate (Chrissy Metz), and Kevin (Justin Hartley) all donned masks and talked about quarantine and the effects of COVID-19 on their daily life. Many fans were not thrilled to see the coronavirus pandemic present in their beloved show. Viewers want to dive back into their favorite characters’ storylines, beginning with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Miguel (Jon Huertas). Thankfully, the producers have a plan for when fans will find out the couple’s backstory.
‘This Is Us’: Here’s what we know about Rebecca and Miguel’s relationship so far
When This Is Us premiered in 2016, fans met Jack Pearson’s (Milo Ventimiglia) best friend, Miguel. The two became very close over the years, and Jack consoled Miguel after his separation from his wife, Shelly. The Pearson family even invited Miguel over for Thanksgiving to be surrounded by people who love him for this first holiday since his divorce.

“Jack is the core of this show, and the way both Rebecca and Miguel were closest to him,” another fan added. “I really want to see how their relationship wrapped around memories of Jack and how they dealt with it or grew around it.”

Creator Dan Fogelman hinted that season 5 would include Rebecca and Miguel’s love story
Viewers have been begging for more back story about Miguel for years, and they are finally going to get what they were asking for. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, This Is Us’ creator, Dan Fogelman, said that fans would finally see more of Miguel and Rebecca in season 5.
“It’s obviously a challenging chapter for Rebecca moving forward,” Fogelman told the outlet. “We have a big storyline planned for Mandy in the next upcoming season in present-day as an older woman and also her past timelines. That will include a deeper look into Rebecca and Miguel’s relationship throughout the decades.”
Thankfully, the episode is coming soon. This Is Us returns on Nov. 10, 2020.
