For a while, it seemed like Kevin had the potential to end up with Madison. But after she left him at the altar in the This Is Us Season 5 finale, that seemed less likely. Now, Kevin and Madison are navigating co-parenting their twins and Madison has formed a relationship with a man named Elijah. However, the most recent episode of the hit show seems to hint that Kevin and his one true love (and ex-wife) Sophie could be endgame.

But the future of Kevin’s career also hangs in the balance. In the flash-forward of the This Is Us Season 5 finale, there is a card that reads “Big Three Homes: A Pearson Family Construction Company.” As Kevin promised to build Rebecca a house by their family cottage, it seems to imply that he helped realize Jack’s dream of starting a construction company. But does that mean that Kevin gave acting up for good?

Kevin’s luck in attracting quality projects in Hollywood seems to have run out. Currently, he is working on a reboot of The Manny because the bigwigs in Hollywood don’t want to work with him. Of course, there is potential for that to change. It may be true that by the time the This Is Us series finale airs that Kevin has a successful acting and construction business.

Justin Hartley (who plays Kevin Pearson on This Is Us) is all for Kevin finding success. However, the actor revealed that he will be none too pleased if Kevin receives one award before he does. In an interview with Story + Rain, the actor shared that while he and Kevin share some similar traits, his work ethic is much higher than that of his most famous character.

“But I’ve always said, if Kevin wins an Oscar before I do, I’m going to be really pissed off,” the This Is Us star shared. “I know I work harder than Kevin Pearson. It’s crazy, isn’t it, how life does really imitate art? People say that and you think, OK, whatever, you’re reading into things. Of course, it does, because it’s the way you want to see things. But it really does. It’s bizarre.”

Continuing on, Hartley shared that some of his career as an actor has run parallel to Kevin’s. “It’s been insane, the parallels, his career versus my career,” the actor added. “A lot of Kevin and I are so different, of course. I think about that all the time, actually; how strange it is that I’ve played this character who, in certain ways, was going through the things that I, myself, was going through in life. I was able to do research by just being myself.”

It’s not surprising that Hartley’s life has overlapped with Kevin’s in some ways. But it’ll be interesting to see if his character does win an Oscar at any point in the final season of This Is Us.
