What are some of the Pearson clan’s biggest secrets?

If there is one thing, the Pearson clan is perfect at its keeping secrets. These include Kevin’s (Justin Hartley) teenage marriage to Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge), Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) drinking problem, and claiming his younger brother Nicky (Griffin Dunne) was dead when he was very much alive.

Other secrets included Rebecca’s (Mandy Moore) Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Tess’s (Eris Baker) true sexuality, and Kevin’s alcoholism.

Perhaps the biggest of all was Rebecca knowing the truth about Randall’s (Sterling K. Brown) birth father, Wiliam (Ron Chepas Jones), his entire life.

The outsiders that have come into the family throughout the years, including Toby (Chris Sullivan), Madison (Caitlin Thompson), and Miguel (Jon Huertas), had held their secrets but learned quickly to play along when it came to the Pearson’s puzzling past.

‘This Is Us’ viewers call the Pearson family ‘awkward’ and claim they need to stop doing this one thing

In a Reddit thread titled “Why does this family dump all their emotions on strangers?” fans debated the many awkward interactions the main characters have had throughout the years. They also agree that the Pearsons need to stop doing this one thing for the remainder of season 6.

“I LOVE the show, but it’s weird, slightly amusing, and unrealistic how everyone goes into a monologue on their issues with complete strangers just because they happen to be around. They need to stop doing that. If someone did that to me, IDK what I would do?” questioned one Reddit user.

“I absolutely love the emotional rollercoaster they take us on, even when it’s overblown and sometimes ridiculous. Having said that, if these people were my neighbors, I would move. I could not imagine the drama that knowing this family would entail,” wrote a second viewer.

“Main character syndrome. They’re awkward, and all tend to be the center of attention. By force,” penned a third fan.

“You would either adopt them and take them home to your family, sleep with them, almost marry them, or invite them to your family holiday party,” joked a fourth This Is Us viewer.

Ep. 3 titled ‘Four Fathers’ will reveal even more Pearson family secrets

In the third episode of the series titled “Four Fathers,” viewers will learn even more about the parental journeys of Kevin, Randall, Toby, and Jack.

The episode’s biggest secrets involve Deja (Lyric Ross), who spent the weekend with her boyfriend Malik (Asante Blackk) at Harvard and did not tell her parents she went to visit him. The couple also had sex for the first time while she was there.

This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
