Adjusting to life in self-isolation hasn’t been easy for many people, and some are looking for ways to handle being quarantined without resorting to binge-watching sessions on the couch.

Along with managing anxiety, people are seeking ways to combat overeating, overspending online, and being sedentary. There are a few celebrities who want to help with that.

Chris Hemsworth isn’t singing or recording videos from a bathtub, but he is offering the general public a method to stay physically fit.

Hemsworth is doing a fitness giveaway

Fans recognize him as Marvel’s Thor, the Norse god of thunder. And while he doesn’t do any routines with Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, Hemsworth is an advocate of exercise and mental health.

That’s why he’s offering free access to his health and fitness app, Centr, for six weeks as a gesture to help people stay active while at home. Hemsworth released this statement:

“We have been incredibly inspired by the outpouring of support and positivity from the Centr community during this challenging time. We hope that by making Centr available to everyone for this extended period, we can help even more people stay strong, healthy and find a sense of calm at a time when we all need that the most.”

He shared the news on Instagram, urging new users to sign up for the app and to focus on “3 key pillars to living healthier and happier- movement, nutrition, and mental fitness.”

What exactly is Centr?

Launched in 2019, Centr provides workouts, meal plans, meditation techniques, and a team of experts who help train users in a variety of areas.

Hemsworth told Men’s Health it took two years to assemble Centr. He was inspired to create something that encompassed what he learned about physical training, nutrition, and mental health.

In his Instagram post, Hemsworth said the app was designed to “give people the opportunity to access the team I’ve used over the years” that have had a profound impact on his life.

Workouts range from 20 to 60 minutes and can be customized by type (e.g., building muscle) and intensity. A professional dietician created the four meal plans, which include regular, pescatarian, vegetarian, and vegan options.

Centr is accessible online or via the app, where there are more than 1,000 workouts and hundreds of recipes.

Both Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, are listed as members of the Centr team. The couple favors their own specialties when it comes to training, and they each handpicked the experts found on Centr.

How do you sign up?

To sign up for the free six-week trial, go to Centr’s website. Then, you can download the app, which is available for iOS and Android devices.

Along with having access to the personalized training programs, users can also join Centr’s social media community to link up with others on their fitness journeys.

For those who are interested, there is a deadline of March 31 to take advantage of the free six weeks. That sounds better than trying to wield Thor’s hammer.
