Beyoncé stepped out on a rare outing with Jay-Z at the Brooklyn Nets game on June 5, where he was photographed touching her. Noticing a pattern of him rubbing on her during outings, fans started speculating that the singer has anxiety. But her mom was quick to shut the rumors down.

Tina Knowles has assured fans that Beyoncé is OK amid rumors about her mental health. Fans had gone on social media with speculation that the singer has public anxiety after noticing Jay-Z rubbing her leg on various outings, including at the Brooklyn Nets game on Saturday, June 5. But Knowles said that Jay-Z was simply showing affection toward his wife, like he often does when they’re out together.

Photos of Beyoncé and Jay-Z at the basketball game were widely discussed online

Beyoncé and Jay-Z stepped out for a rare outing together and were photographed getting close. She was seen locking arms with him at one point, and at others, he gently touched her leg. She looked stunning in a sparkly jacket over a black dress and matching heels, while Jay-Z kept it simple in a black shirt and pants.

Noticing how he’s rubbed her leg at least a dozen different games over the years, fans figured Beyoncé has anxiety and that her husband was trying to help calm her. Neither of them has commented on the speculation at the time of this writing. But Beyoncé’s mom had no problem speaking up for her.

Tina Knowles’ response to the rumors shut them down

Setting the record straight, Knowles went on Instagram and refuted the rumors about her daughter. She explained, “When you love someone and like them you just want to touch them! Me and Richard [Lawson, her husband] are always touching even if it’s just our feet! Yeah!! That’s what you do! ❤️”

“For those of you who don’t understand, try it sometimes it works!!” she continued. “Human touch is how you stay connected!! ❤️ So comical people saying she has anxiety in public and that’s why he touches her! Lord people!!!! Y’all it’s not!!! Stop that!!!!! ❤️”

“[By the way] if someone has anxiety then it is great for their partner to touch them to calm and reassure them. That’s a beautiful thing. It just happens to not be the case here,” Knowles added.

The post garnered more than 400,000 likes, with many readers agreeing in the comment section how normal it is for couples to show that kind of affection.
