Savannah Guthrie is back on the Today Show set though still keeping a social distance from her co-hosts. The NBC anchor just celebrated her daughter Vale’s 6th birthday and took to Instagram to share pics of the day she was born.

Savannah Guthrie’s firstborn graduates kindergarten

The Today co-host often posts updates on the milestones of her family. Parenting her two kids Vale and son Charley, 3, with husband Michael Feldman, Guthrie usually has plenty to share.

Reporting from home until recently amid the coronavirus crisis, Guthrie has been keeping her fans in the loop via Instagram on how her family is handling quarantine life. One example includes Charley getting a home haircut from his dad in May due to salons being closed.

“Charley entrusts his tumbleweed-esque quarantine hair to the hands of the master, @feldmike, and as a wise man once said: ‘you’re gonna like the way you look,'” the Today anchor wrote alongside a pic of Feldman and Charley. “Big sis gets right in for the next available appointment and gets a nice trim.”

Another memorable occasion was Vale’s graduation from kindergarten. “Our graduate – getting her kindergarten degree with homemade cap and bathrobe gown at zoom school today,” Guthrie captioned the photo of Vale. “And so proud she’s just gotta give herself a hug.”

‘Today’ co-host enjoys parenting later in life

Speaking with PeopleTV in August 2020, the couple discussed having their children in their 40s. Guthrie was 42 when Vale was born, and Feldman was 45.

“I think I always wanted to be a mom. When we found out we were pregnant and going to get to have a baby, I don’t think there were two happier people on this planet,” Guthrie gushed. “I love being a mom in my 40s. I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I think there’s a lot to be said for being a mom a little later in life.”

While the NBC journalist acknowledged some physical drawbacks that come with age, Guthrie feels that the rewards of having children completely overshadow any disadvantages.

“Whatever the downside is, maybe you’re more tired or your back hurts when you lift those big, heavy babies,” Guthrie shared, “I think it’s more than outweighed by just the wonderful time of life it is and how grateful and blessed I feel. When you wait a long time to have kids, you really, really appreciate it because you know how lucky you are.”

A mother’s love captured on camera

With her daughter turning 6 on August 13, 2020, the Today star posted a series of photos from the day Vale was born along with some heartfelt messages.

“I believe in love at first sight. And I believe in miracles,” Guthrie captioned the breathtaking images on Instagram of herself holding a newborn Vale. “Having a baby at 42 was certainly both. I am thanking God today and every day. I will never, ever, ever get over this blessing. There is always hope.”

Another post was meant specifically for Vale from Guthrie, including a carousel of pics of her daughter from birth until now.

“This little bundle of sparkle came into our lives six years ago today… and oh, how we have loved you every moment since,” the mom of two wrote. “Vale Guthrie Feldman, you really do have a touch of stardust in you. You shine and smile and laugh and love with every drop of energy in your being. Your joy is infectious and your affection is for all. You are the gift we get to unwrap every day. Happiest 6th Birthday.”

Happy birthday Vale!
