Top Gun: Maverick, was originally set to be released in June 2020, but the film was delayed by six months because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, audiences can expect to see Cruise’s new movie in December 2020 if things go as expected, reports CNN.
The movie is based on the 1986 film Top Gun, in which Cruise plays US Naval pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Cruise will reprise his role. In the original film he plays a fighter pilot trying to secure the top pilot spot and win the heart of his flight instructor, Charlotte Blackwood, played by actress Kelly McGillis.
