The Bold and the Beautiful has a large and loyal fan base. Each week, millions of fans tune in to watch the trials and travails of the Forresters, the Logans, and the Spencers. But there are five gaping plotholes that not even the most devoted fans can explain away.

5. Where was Ridge when his mother died?

For this plothole on The Bold and the Beautiful, we have to go back in time a little bit to when Ron Moss — of Player, no less — played Ridge. Now, we can blame all this on the timing — Moss had left B&B just a few months before Susan Flannery (who played Stephanie) decided to retire, thus killing off her character. But while Flannery told TV Guide that she wanted Stephanie to die in Brooke’s arms, fans still can’t figure out why Ridge — Stephanie’s pride and joy — didn’t come back to Los Angeles to say one final goodbye to his mother.

4. Where’s the fashion?

For all that The Bold and the Beautiful is supposed to be about fashion moguls and mavens, there sure isn’t a lot of fashion going on. Now, certainly, the show would be boring if all we saw were arguments about fabric samples and New York Fashion Week. But lately, there hasn’t been a lot of fashion on the show. And if real-life fashion mavens bickered as much as the Forrester, Logan, and Spencer families, they wouldn’t have much of a job — or a bank account.

3. Has no one on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ heard about healthy boundaries?

Whether it’s the Logan sisters playing do-si-do with Eric Forrester, or it’s Ridge sticking his nose in the middle of his father’s admittedly messy love life, or it’s Liam and Hope and Steffy barking at each other as Liam ping-pongs between their beds, the families on The Bold and the Beautiful could stand to use a therapist. Maybe they can call Dr. Phil.

2. How did Dr. Taylor Hayes appear as a ghost when she wasn’t dead?

When fans saw Krista Allen assume the mantle of Dr. Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful, they were wondering how it was all even possible. But their curiosity had nothing to with Allen as an actor. It had to do with how Dr. Taylor Hayes came back to life in the first place.

Fans will recall that in 2002, Taylor died in Ridge’s arms.

And while no one’s ever truly dead on a soap opera, The Powers That Be reinforced this tragedy by having Taylor visit some of her family members as a ghost through the years. There was even a video of Taylor in a coffin! She had to be dead, right?

Wrong.

It would later be revealed that Taylor was alive and well — and living in Morocco with a prince.

1. How is Sheila Carter even an issue on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’?

As SoapHub correctly points out, before this most recent Sheila Carter storyline on The Bold and the Beautiful, the villainess was nothing more than a struggling diner waitress, effectively neutralized by all that had happened to her. Literally nobody was worried about her. So how did she now become the biggest threat on two legs?
