BBQ Chicken is a year-round meal that the entire family will love

BBQ Chicken is one of those meals that scream family favorite. It was part of a group of foods Yearwood longed for when she left her Montecito, GA, home and moved to Nashville to try and make it in the music business.

The singer once said in an interview that when she was sick, it was her mother, Gwen, who tried to make things right by overnighting her some chicken soup.

Yearwood said to Redbook, “When you’re sick, nobody takes care of you like your mom. And I hadn’t been living in Oklahoma that long, and I was hundreds of miles away from home so that just kind of compounded the whole thing. I was so surprised when it showed up. You can’t go out and buy that kind of gift. I was crying and eating, crying and eating.”
