Trixie Mattel Missed the Dolly Parton-Themed Episode of ‘RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race’ by One Episode

This drag queen is an unapologetic Dolly Parton fan, performing her songs live and even dressing as her for one RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars challenge. With Dolly Parton making a cameo in the most recently released episode of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race, some Trixie Mattel fans are feeling cheated of a much-needed meeting of these two country artists.

Dolly Parton shared a message on ‘RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race’

Sure, you’ve seen celebrities sit behind the judge’s panel on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Now, a select few will prove they have the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to takes to be “America’s Next Celebrity Drag Superstar.” Earlier this year, RuPaul premiered the first-ever episode of the spinoff series, Secret Celebrity Drag Race, featuring actors and comedians like Vanessa Williams.

As her drag persona, Vanquisha Da Haus, Vanessa Williams performed a Dolly Parton-inspired lip-sync number, “Twerkin’ 9 to 5.” She later went on to win the competition, earning a cash prize for a charity of her choice.

However, before the main challenge started, Dolly Parton shared her well-wishes to the contestants, appearing in a video message for the other celebrities. Since then, some fans could practically feel Trixie Mattel, unapologetic Dolly Parton fan, fuming.

Trixie Mattel was a mentor on ‘Secret Celebrity Drag Race’

Being the legend, icon, and star she is, Trixie Mattel appeared on this spinoff of RuPaul’s reality competition series. She acted as a mentor during the first episode, along with Monét X Change and Bob the Drag Queen.

Because each episode holds a new set of contestants and a new set of mentors, Trixie Mattel wasn’t around when Dolly Parton appeared on a screen in the Werk Room. Some fans were quick to take notice. One Twitter user wrote, “I wanna know what Trixie Mattel feels like about NOT being a guest in the Dolly Parton episode.”

Trixie Mattel previously appeared as Dolly Parton for an ‘All-Stars’ challenge

When Trixie Mattel appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 3, she acted in the lipsync challenge, “VH1 Divas Live.” Her “diva” that she performed was, of course, Dolly Parton, complete with a guitar and blonde wig. (Trixie Mattel went on to win the whole competition. Yes, diva.)

However, this wouldn’t be the first time, or the last time, that Trixie Mattel shared her love for this country icon. She reviewed the Dolly Parton-centered television series with season 7 contestant, Katya Zamolodchikova, thanks to the Netflix YouTube special, “I Like to Watch.”

“I love Dolly Parton, who to me represents the marriage and the intersection between storytelling and music,” Trixie Mattel said during an interview with Austin360. “She makes people laugh as much as she makes people sing along, and that’s obviously the direction I like to go in. She’s an icon.”

New episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race premiere on a weekly basis on VH1.
